We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Sue is such a nice and kind host! The Round Houses have everything you could ask if you look for an unique accomodation with a perfect mountain view. The area of the houses is really nice, you see a lot of butterflies and flowers. You are really close to the Chiang Dao Cave and local village restaurants are in walkable distance. Continental breakfast is served, you get a nice variety of fruits with it! Overall a strong recommendation if you want to stay outside of Chiang Mai and enjoy nature!!

I was thrilled with this accommodation. The location is very good, the view is unbeatable and Sue (the owner) is like a second mother. The roundhouses are very comfortable, the bed is big and the blanket is nice and warm and cozy. The place is cleaned every day. There is a freshly prepared and sumptuous breakfast every day. Sue is very attentive and helpful and it is very easy to chat with her. She speaks perfect English. I rented a scooter from her (or her brother) on site, which was also in perfect condition. Next time I will stay longer 😁

The staff who checked us in was delightful but the check in took way too long. She gave us lots of information which was great but it would be nice to have a paper printed to give to guests about the local sites.

Susie and staff were great, helpful above and beyond. Sad to say property is construction zone, and has neglected look to garden, empty pool. Rates jumped from 1150 to 1620 baht in short time since booked. Gorgeous area w many well manicured properties nearby, this one did not meet up to that rate level. Perhaps they are regrouping but for now I’d make another choice.

The Roundhouses are super beautiful in a calm area close to the chiang dao cave. It is recommendable to rent a bike, motorbike or car to get around the area but this is easy in the small 'village' nearby. The kind host (susie) is so helpul with everything that your stay will be great for sure. Very recommendable if you search for some calm days and nature. The breakfast was amazing.

The roundhouses are a set of 4 round huts, on the edge of a hill, in the center of a lush garden. The owner, a Thai called Sue, bought the site a few years ago. You can find her telephone number and email on the establishment's website. We booked directly with her, without an intermediary. Sue contacted us by Whatsapp the day before to make sure she was there when we arrived (she doesn't live on site). The roundhouses are located on the outskirts of Chiang Dao, a few minutes' walk from the cave temple. A few shops nearby, connected by a road not lit at night. Go there before sunset or rent the scooter offered by the owner. Restaurants open in the evening are 2-3 km away. Grab does not deliver to this remote area. If you find yourself hungry, stuck in the rain, call Sue. She will have a solution for you. If you can, come here with a bottle of red and some sausage, the place would have been perfect for an aperitif. During the day, magnificent view from the room, particularly the one located to the very north of the site. The deckchairs in front of the cottage face the peaks where clouds and tropical forest meet. Being in the great outdoors has its downside. Mosquito nets imperfectly block the entry of pests. The small window to the east of the bedroom only closes at 3 points out of 4. The door separating the bedroom from the open-air bathroom has gaps so large that a gecko got in. Bring DEET-based mosquito repellent and burn the insecticidal incense provided with the room. Large bed, spacious room. The coat rack to the right of the bathroom door is threatening to come loose. The shower drain is practically blocked. The coolness of the mountains makes it possible to live without Airco, but the duvets provided with the bed remain too hot for summer. Sheets would have been nicer. No human noise when it gets dark, but the constant croaking of frogs, interrupted from time to time by the howls of stray dogs. They did not in any way prevent us from sleeping, the song of the frogs was easily covered by that of the fan. You will be awakened by daylight. So I advise you to have breakfast early. This consists of bread, fried egg, fruit and a salad with peanut sauce. Not forgetting real croissants that Sue will pick up in Chiang Mai. Tea, coffee, biscuits and muesli available 24/7.
