The Ponce St. Augustine Hotel Reviews

My room was shoved under the stairwell even though there were plenty of rooms. i believe this is because i used a discounted site. The cleanness was fair. There was no room service during stay Hot tub was about 3/4 full not full so question cleanness. Further from town than i was lead to believe i thought it was walking distance it was a 20 minute walk one way.

The Ponce is an older hotel with plenty of charm and character, which was what I was looking for. It has been maintained and updated beautifully. The staff was very welcoming and accomodating. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable.The bed was extremely comfortable. Amenities included pool, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, blow dryer, iron, ironing board, writing desk with chair, huge HD TV, and free WIFI. A guest laundry room is available. The Ponce is a 15 minute walk or short drive to the St. Augustine old historic site. Shopping, restaurants, and a salon and spa are also minutes away. The Ponce is on the water, and although the restaurant does not face the water, the view is beautiful. The hotel restaurant, the DeLeon, is a Colombian restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic! I can't wait to eat there again. I give the Ponce Hotel a rating of A+++++. I also must mention that I left a pair of diamond earrings in my room, and within an hour of checking out, Negar, the hotel desk receptionist, called me to let me know, and my earrings are being mailed to me. This honesty and going the extra mile is seldom seen today, and I was extremely impressed and grateful. Again,I rate them very highly and plan to return on my next visit.

This was a great last minute find. My boyfriend and I wanted some thing close to the historic district for a one night stay, it was an easy 15 minute walk. The hotel staff were pleasant upon arrival. The room was nice and clean it well smelled like bleach when we walked in (loved that). Definitely a place that I would book again.

For some reason we got a handicap room. I found it odd that the toilet was inside the BIG shower room.

Day clerk super nice. Night clerk not so much. I bought(and ate) a candy bar from the little pantry and then realized it expired in September 2023. Pillows ******; air conditioning way too loud and the staff around there seemed a little sketchy (not day clerk) Hoping I don’t have food poisoning; won’t stay there again

Loved this stay! The room was clean and everything worked. Parking was easy! Will definitely stay here again!

Large clean rooms, well stocked with toiletries fridge and ice maker. Hotel is directly beside a train track. Although close in proximity to all historic attractions, it is a considerable distance to walk to a safe street crossing where there are traffic lights. We waited for a break in the traffic but it is a very busy street. The pool area was very nice and had comfortable seating. Once you get across the street all the historic attractions are walkable. And the hop on hop off trolley is directly beside the hotel so no need to cross the street to buy tickets and take the tour.

A surprisingly nice little place. The internet wasn't always stable, but it was affordable, comfortable, and well-located.

Very clean and sanitised rooms. The owner of the hotel is very nice and made sure that we had everything we needed

Just make sure you get a room to the front of the hotel or the train is gonna keep you up all night lol

The older gentleman at check in during the day was not so friendly. The hotel is older but nicely renovated guest rooms. A younger gentleman was at the desk for check in on the evening and could not tell us where our rooms were located.

Very comfortable and friendly staff. Was there working the CPS carnival and will rebook for next years.

I didn't like thia hotel. It was way to noisy we checked out the next morning so i lost a full night that i paid for didn't get a refund. Was staying from friday to Sunday and we onlu stayed friday night and checked out at 730 Saturday morning

I liked the friendliness and the helpfulness of the staff . Clean rooms and nice restaurant inside the hotel.
