Murphy's hotel is a wonderful place to stay. We had a group of 16 people and everyone enjoyed staying there. The rooms were clean and nice. The pub in the hotel was comfortable and the food was really good. The owner Paul is very friendly and he was very accommodating for all of our needs. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Murphy's.

The hotel room photos are flattering, the bathrooms are in need to updating and the furniture in the bedrooms could do with a bit of TLC. The food in the bar was excellent, breakfast was superb and so were the evening meals. The staff were very good.

Solid 3* hotel - stayed 4 nights with family (kids 13/16). Room basic but cleaned daily and worked for us. Location excellent for exploring Sligo and surrounding area. Ate in restaurant one night and food all round good. Bar was great and prices very reasonable (pint Guinness and glass wine €12.50). Breakfast went down very well each day and staff always accommodated our different requirements (extra hash browns and sausages being ordered in abundance :-)) Location great for buying extra food with Spar literally next door and off licence + SuperValu literally a stones throw. Take-aways possible! Minor point but our room was above the bar area and the live music was loud for 3 of our 4 evenings. Just be sure to mention that you want a quieter room when booking. Main stand-out for the stay were the staff and how warm and welcome they made us feel. We felt part of the establishment and not extras! Thank you to all!

We arrived for checkin and the process was seamless. We booked a table for dinner in the restaurant. Great selection on the menu. Staff were great, added bonus was the live music session next to the bar . Accommodation lovely. Breakfast selection was impressive and very tasty. Plenty of car parking. Will return

A little Gem, although the Hotel is a little older than the big “modern “ hotels it more than made up with the cleanliness, comfort and value. As we found during our visit the people of Ireland are warm and welcoming and the staff at Murphys are no exception to this, We would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again. They serve a good pint of Guinness 👍

An absolute gem of a place. Stayed for one night and it was the best night of my 3 week visit to Ireland. Had the warmest friendliest welcome. Absolutely lovely people working here. The room was really clean, warm and comfortable. Met the owner Paul who was really helpful and also Mary and Kathleen (sorry if I got the name wrong). Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Also met loads of the locals who were so friendly and made me feel part of their family. Best time ever.

A small 'Budget' Hotel/pub with a really nice welcome, a very satisfying evening meal, the most comfortable bed in a lovely room that had all you could need and a hearty breakfast to set me up for another day on the road, what more can I ask for? I love my 650 mile trip delivering Ireland Homes Interiors and Living magazine to some 'special' customers around our beautiful island, however, when i get a great nights sleep in a 'wee' gem like Murphy's Hotel in the lovely town of Tubbercurry, County Sligo, it just makes it that little bit nicer, Thank you Murphy's.

This hotel in the middle of the town, our room was quite spacious with a double bed and single bed. Bathroom also quite spacious with plenty of towels, shower had a corner tray in it for shampoo etc. View from window was over the car park at the back of the building. Large mirror above the dressing table, which also had the tray with the kettle etc on it, despite there being another desk type table at the other side of the room. The large TV was corner mounted beside the mirror, so anyone at the dressing table was blocking the view to the TV. During our stay, we had towels replaced, bin emptied but never had the tray holding the tea bags, coffee etc refilled, in the end we had to ask for these. The manager and staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them. Breakfast was buffet style for cereals etc, good choice for the buffet, cooked breakfast was a set Irish breakfast, no choice of anything else cooked. Evening meal times service was very slow. Our time was 6.30 pm, our order wasn't taken until nearer 7 pm, then between courses waiting time was 20 mins at least. One night I was in dining room from 6.30 till 8 pm and only had main course. Food was good and plenty of it, but a couple of nights the veg came out in separate dishes and we had finished the main meal. After evening meal there is no proper lounge to sit in to enjoy a couple of drinks, seating was at tables and chairs better suited in a cafe. The entertainment wasn't that good either, the same chap was on every night and either we couldn't hear and make out what he was singing or he was singing Christmas songs, nothing like hogmanay music.

Friendly staff & lovely food in the restaurant The room was a bit cold as you have to put the heater on yourself once in the room . It’s fine for a overnight but I would not Like to stay if it was really cold outside .

Great food, great hospitality and super comfy beds. We had a family re-union booked over three nights and the staff were very helpful and hospitable during our stay. The twin queen sized bedroom was very ample and the room was warm throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a 2 night midweek Autumn Staycation at Murphys. Our 8th visit to this hotel and it never disappoints. Great value break , warm clean comfy rooms , excellent food and friendly helpful staff. Paul & Mary Murphy are wonderful hosts and make a point of chatting to guests. Special mention to Shane & Kathleen in the bar for their excellent service. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a base to tour South Sligo and North Mayo. We will be returning again soon. We had dinner in the hotel, food arrived quickly, was good, but waited 40 minutes for plates to be lifted, no one asked if we wanted a desert. Would still go back though.
