Reviews of Andromeda Hotel Thessaloniki

Hotel is nice and in the good location, reseptionist was not friendly, there is parking lot at the front of the hotel for check in and check out processing only, then you must park your car somewhere else. They don’t provide complimentary water :(

The decoration is amazingly kitsch. But what is worse is the service. We arrived with our car and there were three free places in front of the entrance reserved for the hotel. It was 10.30 pm and asked the receptionist if I could leave the car to unload the baggage, go to the room and then go park it. She said that this was impossible. We had booked for one night and we were asked to settle the account upon arrival --something i have not encountered before. We said they could keep a copy of the credit card as a guarantee but they were insistent that we pay upfront. It was an exceptionally hot day and there was no air condition in the room. The receptionist said that the air-condition is central and when it is hot it cannot perform!! The following day when we were leaving I brought the car from the garage to park it in front of the hotel in order to load the baggage. All three places were taken and, another receptionist that morning, said that he could not move the cars because they belonged to hotel clients and to his boss!! I felt so disappointed for the Greek tourist product. Such untrained and indifferent staff, and such poor quality.

We had an amazing stay in Andromeda hotel, i really don't understand the negative comment, really nothing to complain about. The room was a very nice, the staff very friendly and polite. The hotel has a great location, near everything, the street is very nice, with restaurants and bars.

Booked this hotel by mistake after reading reviews about it with regards to the hotel manager’s attitude to people staying there. They kept the deposit I had paid but after 18 months I returned the voucher they sent to me but will not repay my money that they were instructed to return by the Greek tourism minister. After many emails sent to the hotel they will not reply to them. After telephoning the hotel they just hang up on you. They are keeping peoples money against the Greek government’s instructions. The reason I tried to cancel my booking was someone else told me to look at reviews on another company website displaying reviews and to my horror the manager was caught by people returning to their rooms after breakfast coming out of peoples room and telling them she was checking if windows were closed because of outside noise. Then when they were going out for the day they got money from their safe found that things they leave deliberately in front of the safe had been moved. They thought €120 was missing. When this was reported to the desk manager Dimitris they were told they were liars and threatened by him. That’s the reason I cancelled, but they still kept my money supposedly for 18 months but they won’t return it. You have been warned.

2 days trip to Thessaloniki and we chose Andromeda for our accommodation. Excellent spot, near to everything, the staff was more than welcoming and helpful and the most important -the cleanliness of the rooms was 10/10. Thanks guys we will get back soon.

We booked five nights at The Andromeda based on facilities listed here and on their website, which we should have checked prior to booking. The ‘spa’ is no longer in use and it seems it hadn’t been much before it closed. There was no bar, restaurant, or separate seating area. Our small room would have been more bearable had these facilities existed as per the listings. However, the hotel is in an excellent position in the centre, the receptionist was friendly, and they had a lovely, cute ginger cat. The room and hotel itself are somewhat dated and would benefit from a refurb. If you want something reasonably priced without facilities in a central location, then book - if you’re looking for more, don’t.
