Superb hotel in the heart of Wernigerode with excellent facilities and rooms. No tea makinf facilities in the room but kettle supplied by reception and milk and sugar from the restaurant. The shower is excellent in a small wet room with a massive rose and detached separate shower hose. The food is also excellent with large choice for dinner and breakfast with cold and hot options - spoil for choice.

We stayed here as part of a group. The hotel was very busy with both regional and international companies. We were amazed by the size of the dining room which was expanded nightly via adjoining room partitions to accommodate the masses. Our room was large and comfy with a built-in luggage rack and plenty closet space. What is certainly weird, and maybe this is a German thing, but my husband loved the instant cappuccino packs provided in the room, but these were never refilled. In fact, our mugs were left dirty and we had to wash them ourselves. No milk or creamer are provided, so you've got to take a little jug from the restaurant. No coffee or tea supplies were refilled during our time. Others in our group had the same experience. The front office service was hit or miss and generally I found them more engrossed in their tasks like balancing their floats than to attend to customers'. A front office agent should be forward facing I feel at all times, as otherwise you're looking at the staff from the side and trying to get their attention. The buffet was quite good as we enjoyed breakfasts and lunches daily. I wish the fish was done in different styles but I liked the variety nightly for dinner and lots of vegetable options. The dessert could have been was more innovative than mousse, mousse and mousse in different flavours with icecream. Some bread pudding, proper cake, a trifle or creme caramel, meringue, etc. would have been welcomed, especially by the international guests. I mean even German desserts like Apple strudel, Lebkuchen, Plum cake or other regional sweet would have been nice. Location is halfway between the railway station and the center of town and the little red land train to the castle starts & stops just behind the hotel so this is very ideal. We enjoyed the bar in the evenings. The bartender Salvatore was a delightful character; friendly and efficient despite not speaking a word of English. We would definitely stay here on a future trip.

We were here as part of a group tour. This is our 2nd visit to this hotel, and it was as enjoyable as our first. Staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are great, and the showers are lovely and like a wet room. Breakfasts are buffet style and cater for all tastes, plenty to choose from. The evening dinner also buffet style and again plenty of choices. Thid hotel does cater for large groups our group was one of at least 4 others, so if travelling as a couple you may feel overwhelmed, but apart from tha its great and would definately recommend. Its close to a small shopping arcade with a supermarket, and bus stops, and also the red train, short walk to station for Brocken train too.

Nice hotel in the beautiful city of Wernigerode, staff very friendly, professional and attentive. Hotel is well built, facilities in good order, restaurant serves tasty food. The breakfast catered for all needs. The room I had was double story, it was well equipped and the standard is high. Bathrooms are awesome, virtually new, showers large and space. Upstairs was a tv and lounge room, bottom floor bed and bathroom. A well run and smoothly organized operation

Disappointed with this hotel, no air-conditioning in the rooms, no tea and coffee making facilities, bed linen not changed in five days, Bar not open. Ostensibly it is quite a nice hotel, the staff are friendly, the rooms are a good size, and the buffet breakfast and dinner are very good, but it certainly lacks something, highlighted above. Not changing the bedlinen when the temperature was 104 F is travesty, and has to be remarked upon.

I chose this hotel as it was a short walk from where I was working also it’s only a 5 minute walk into the centre. Probably one of the best hotels in town. It’s very popular with tourists and coach trips. Stayed here for two weeks, first week in a superior and then in a single room. The superior room had been renovated and included a fridge and walk in shower. The single room had a large bed and slightly smaller in overall size. Neither have coffee making facilities but do have power outlets by the bed. Choose a room not facing the front as it can get noisy with guests gathering outside to smoke. The breakfast is simply excellent with a fantastic selection and great coffee. The restaurant food was good and there’s a €25 buffet each night. A separate bar does a few simpler dishes but unfortunately smoking is allowed in there. On two occasions I returned to my room to find the door had been left fully open by housekeeping despite reporting this after the first occasion. Wifi signal was good throughout apart from in the breakfast area for some reason. staff were helpful and a few of them spoke very good English

Unfortunately, a generally good impression of hotel was spoiled by a very unethical behavior of the hotel. The hotel charged me and my wife an additional tourist tax to the final price quote from ***********, which explicitly stated that taxes were included. The hotel's explanation of this situation was that the final price quote from *********** did not include the tourist tax. My wife and I found this explanation ridiculous, because on *********** price quote it explicitly states that "the price is final" and "taxes are included in the final price". So, from our point of view, we were intentionally deceived when we made the reservation on *********** because they offered a lower price than what they actually asked us to pay.

Centrally located in Wernigerode, short walk from the station and a short walk to the main shopping area. Bit of a longer walk to the castle. Room was a good nice, nice shower, beds comfortable. Breakfast was included, and was okay.
