Reviews of Hotel Ambia Shofukaku

We stayed here with our family at the end of the year. The service was excellent, and the room was spotless, making for a truly wonderful stay. We were a bit worried about it being crowded during the New Year period, but it wasn't an issue at all, and we enjoyed our time thoroughly. We had a fantastic view of Mount Fuji 🗻 from our room, which we absolutely loved! The sunrise 🌅 was also beautiful to watch. We could even see Mount Fuji from the open-air bath. Dinner was exquisite, and the breakfast buffet, especially the Shirasu (whitebait) from Yaizu, was delicious. We were also able to buy some Shizuoka souvenirs at the gift shop! Thank you for a lovely time. 😌🌸

The traditional onsen hotel. Public bathroom is big and the view is good . The hotel facilities are quite old.

Fantastic place. Room feels newly renovated while retaining traditional feel. Wide ocean view from room, breakfast area, lobby and outdoor onsen. Place was clean, service was polite. Food was ok. Had game station, arcade, and nightly bingo for kids. Convenient 15min shuttle bus from Yaizu. Only downside was the pillow was a little thin and the microbead fillings was not very nice to lay on.

We suddenly decided to go to Higashi-Shizuoka to watch a baseball game, and since we were going all the way to Shizuoka, we thought we'd stay overnight and do some sightseeing the next day. We searched for accommodation and finally found a room big enough for our family. The building seemed to be from the good old days of inns, and the interior was well-maintained. There were various tea sweets to enjoy when we arrived, which made us want to buy some as souvenirs (we bought the hotel's original water mochi and shrimp crackers, and "kajime" which was added to the miso soup at breakfast). The open-air bath offered a panoramic view of the sea, and we enjoyed the hot springs morning and night, gazing at the moonlight at night and the bright sunlight in the morning. As we were taking commemorative photos on our way out, a staff member approached us and took several photos from different locations. They also showed us some of Yaizu's tourist attractions, so we decided to go and check them out. As we were leaving, they gave us their business card, and when we looked closely, we realized it was the president of Matsukaze-kaku! We were very surprised, but we were happy to receive hospitality from the president himself. We had been enjoying watching the NHK morning drama, so the Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum was a memorable place for us. We ate seafood bowls at Yaizu Fish Market and bought various things (the plum and bonito flavor from the popcorn shop was delicious) before heading home. Our eldest son is getting married in May, so this will probably be the last trip for all four of us. I heard that they have fireworks and a swimming pool in the summer. If we had children, they would surely enjoy it. I hope that our family will grow again, and I will add this to the energy of our daily lives. Thank you very much.

Large resort hotel, the emperor has stayed here. It is located on the cliff. You can see the sea from the window and watch the sunrise. The food tastes good and there are plenty of drinks. The open-air hot spring is beautiful and comfortable, and the scenery downstairs is also beautiful. But there are always large stains on the carpet in the corridor.

The service is very good, the view is great, and the food is very attentive. All in all, it is a hotel with a good stay experience and good CP value. If you don't require a close view of Mount Fuji, the scenery here is really nice and the room is quite comfortable to live in.

The emperor once stayed at this hotel. The standard is very high and the service is very good. But the local people don't speak English very well. The Japanese-style room is very comfortable. The bathroom is small but still very clean. The dinner I booked was amazing. It cost 300 RMB per person, but it came with everything. There is a shuttle bus right out of Yaizu Station, and it leaves every half an hour or so. If you don’t drive by yourself and want to go out at night, it will be very inconvenient. The view of the sea is really good The biggest shortcoming is that the furnishings of this old hotel are a bit old, but they are still very clean and meticulous.

This is the best accommodation! The view from the room was amazing - the sunrise, the ocean, and Mt. Fuji! The breakfast buffet was also delicious! The shuttle bus to Yaizu Station was convenient.
