Mount Lu: Vast and Distant Grandeur

In the light where thin mist meets dusk, the mountains stack up in deep, layered silhouettes, creating an immense sense of depth. From this high vantage point, the city below and the expansive plains are faintly visible in the distance, composing a magnificent scene. The outlines of bare tree branches and roadside weeds add a touch of early winter's tranquility and stark, desolate beauty to this vast landscape. #falladventures

Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province·Donglin Buddha

"Qi Photo", which loves to record life, is online again. I flew to Jiujiang, Jiangxi specifically for this big Buddha. I hope that those who see this Buddha will have their wishes fulfilled and their paths smooth. Donglin Buddha is a religious site of the Pure Land Sect. Located in Lushan Hot Spring Town, Jiangxi Province, on the southern foot of Lushan Mountain; 48 meters high, it is the tallest golden statue of Amitabha Buddha in the world. 48 kilograms of gold were used to gild the entire body. There are 949 steps in total. The Buddha is 48 meters high and 81 meters in total. It sits on a 48-petal lotus platform, which embodies the 48 great vows made by Amitabha Buddha to save all living beings. The Buddha's right palm is facing forward and hanging down in a welcoming gesture; his left hand is placed on his chest, holding a lotus, which is protected by a dome. The Pure Land Garden of Donglin Temple (the management of Donglin Buddha) has been approved as a Buddhist temple by the State Administration of Religious Affairs. All construction funds come from donations from believers and kind-hearted people from all over the world. After completion, it will be open to the public free of charge and will not be operated commercially. 🚌: It is about 30 km away from Jiujiang Railway Station. The Up owner drove himself, and it seems that there is no bus or coach going from Jiujiang City. Note: Do not wear short skirts, tight skirts, or revealing clothing. If you do, there are free black skirts to borrow on the right before entering the hall. Opening hours: 8:00-17:00. Admission is free.

Winter expedition to Lushan: Conquered!!!

We took a bus from the CBD to the base of the mountain. There are buses specially available for tourist going to climb Mount Lu & they’ll charge you according to where you’ll start your climbing from as well as if you’ll need transportation back. We started from the base & climbed all the way to the top, we however took a cable car on our way down, and took a taxi when moving from one scenic spot to the other. There are many attractions that one may see. We went in winter, on a cold & snowy day so we were fortunate enough to experience & see the beautiful views from a high up altitude. There are lot of temples & historical sites around. There are a variety of nice hotels to choose from & these vary with your budget. There are lots of restaurants serving different kinds of food. Be sure to try out a famous soup called WaGuanTang - 瓦罐汤, it really helped setting the mood before our hiking experience at Mt Lu. Just before you get on the cable car, there are many stores outside selling souvenirs and different kinds of herbal tea. Overall it was an amazing experience & I’ld do it again in Summer to find out how it’s like in a different season. See you there next time. #china #jiujiang #lushan #gthatguy1 #winterhiking

Lushan Xinyuan Villa: A Wonderful Place for a Family Vacation!

Lushan Xinyuan Villa: A Wonderful Place for a Family Vacation!

This early summer weekend, my son and I embarked on a journey to Lushan. In the morning, we departed from Jiujiang Station, enjoying the gentle breeze. In less than an hour, we arrived at Lushan Xinyuan Villa (Meilu Branch), located at 6 Dayueshan Road. Nestled in the heart of Lushan, a World Cultural Landscape, the hotel immediately captivated us with its European-style villas, each exuding historical charm. 🏠 A Home Away from Home From the moment we checked in, we felt the hotel's warm hospitality. The receptionist not only provided us with detailed travel advice but also thoughtfully arranged a shuttle service. Stepping into our mountain-view family room, we were greeted by lush greenery outside the window, and the beautiful bathtub beckoned us to indulge in a relaxing soak. 🌳 Breathe in the Fresh Air of Nature This is not only a great place to enjoy tranquility but also a paradise for nature lovers. Each villa is equipped with an outdoor activity platform, where you can savor tea while admiring the stunning scenery of Lushan. Waking up in the morning and opening the window, you're enveloped by fresh air, rich in negative ions, as if you're in a natural oxygen bar. 🚗 Convenient Transportation Whether you're heading to Lushan's main attractions or shopping in nearby towns, Lushan Xinyuan Villa offers easy access. The hotel is just steps away from the nearest sightseeing bus stop and only 36 km from Jiujiang Station, approximately a 1 hr 18 min drive. This convenient location allowed us to explore Lushan without any worries. 🎉 Must-See Nearby Attractions - Sandie Spring Waterfall: As one of Lushan's most iconic natural wonders, the magnificent Sandie Spring Waterfall is truly unforgettable. Standing at the foot of the waterfall, listening to the roar of the water, you'll feel instantly refreshed. - Flower Path: Stroll along this poetic path, where blooming flowers sway gently in the breeze, transporting you to a dreamlike world. - Hanpokou: This is the best spot to watch the sunrise. As the first rays of sunlight touch the lake, the entire world is painted in gold, a breathtaking sight. Our trip to Lushan was made even more wonderful thanks to our stay at Lushan Xinyuan Villa. If you're planning a visit to Lushan, consider this charming villa hotel. It will surely create lasting memories for your trip.

World Cultural Heritage – Lushan Mountain

World Cultural Heritage – Lushan Mountain

Strolling along the bluestone paths of Lushan, the mist swirling around seems to whisper history in your ear. This famous mountain, known as "Kuanglu, the most beautiful under heaven," has long been a source of inspiration for poets and scholars. Zhu Xi lectured here, Li Bai composed poetry here, Bai Juyi built a thatched cottage here... every scenic spot is steeped in stories spanning a thousand years. **The Literary Legacy of Wulao Peak** At dawn, when Wulao Peak is dyed golden by the morning glow, one recalls Li Bai’s bold verse "A waterfall plunges three thousand feet." Legend has it that this was where the Five Elders, immortal beings, played chess. Zhu Xi founded the Bailudong Academy here, one of China’s four great academies. From the summit, the shimmering waters of Poyang Lake blend with the sea of clouds, creating a fairyland. **The Millennium Poetry of Huajing Path** "All earthly blossoms fade by April, but at the mountain temple peach blossoms bloom," Bai Juyi’s poem "Peach Blossoms at Dalin Temple" made Lushan’s Huajing Path famous worldwide. Walking this 1.5-kilometer trail, ancient trees tower on both sides; in spring, peach blossoms blaze like fire, and in autumn, red leaves glow like clouds. It is especially recommended to visit early morning when the path shrouded in mist feels even more poetic. **The Mysterious Legend of Xianren Cave** This natural cave formed by giant rocks is said to be where Lü Dongbin attained immortality. Inside, it is cool and quiet, with inscriptions left by literati of various dynasties on the stone walls. The most magical sight is the thousand-year-old pine tree at the cave entrance, thriving lushly despite growing in a rock crevice. **The Mountain-Water Symphony of Sandie Spring** Lushan’s most spectacular waterfall cascades in three tiers, with a total drop of 155 meters. Xu Xiake once praised it: "The upper tier like drifting clouds and flowing silk, the middle like shattered stones crushing ice, the lower like a jade dragon running through a pool." It is best visited after rain when the water flow is more magnificent, and a mini rainbow often appears in the mist. **Republic of China Era Memories on Guling Street** This street, at an altitude of 1100 meters, preserves over 600 villas of various architectural styles. Chiang Kai-shek once established a military officer training corps here, and Zhou Enlai conducted talks between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party here. The most notable site is the Meilu Villa, witnessing many significant historical moments. The most wonderful experience in Lushan is watching the clouds roll and unfold. The morning may be clear and sunny, while the afternoon is shrouded in mist, with rapidly changing weather adding endless mystery to this famous mountain. It is recommended to carry a jacket, as the temperature difference here often catches visitors off guard. October 23, 2006

Jiujiang: 4 Days of Truth

Jiujiang: 4 Days of Truth

After 4 days as a "special forces soldier" in Jiujiang, experiencing both pitfalls and treasures, here's a no-nonsense guide to cure your indecision! 📍Itinerary|New Surprises Every Day Day 1: Lushan Mountain ✅ Core Mission: Conquer the Eastern Route of Lushan • Morning: Rush to [Hanpokou] to witness the sea of clouds. Arrive before 7am for a sunrise view of the clouds resembling a flowing milky lake. • Noon: Enjoy [Scrambled Eggs with Stone Ear Mushrooms] at Guling Town, 38 RMB/serving. The earthy aroma of the mountain delicacies is divine. • Afternoon: Climb [Five Old Men Peaks]. Don't count the steps! Reaching the fourth peak is sufficient, as the fifth peak's view is obstructed by trees. • Evening: Head to [Lulin Lake] to capture the Klein blue waters. Wear a *hanfu* and transform into a martial arts heroine. Day 2: A Day of Rivers and Lakes ✅ Double Lake Excursion: • Morning: [Poyang Lake Grasslands]. Navigate to "Luoxingdun". When the water level is low, you can walk to the island in the heart of the lake. Wear hiking boots to avoid the mud. • Noon: Savor [Steamed Mandarin Fish] in a fishing village. Don't fully trust the店家's claim of "freshly caught"! Look for bulging fish eyes for true freshness. • Afternoon: [Xunyang River Scenic Area]. The second floor of the Pipa Pavilion offers a stunning vantage point, capturing the Yangtze River Bridge like a rainbow suspended in mid-air. Day 3: Immersed in History ✅ Culture Connoisseur's Route: • Morning: [Bailudong Academy]. Join a guided tour to hear anecdotes about Zhu Xi. The thousand-year-old osmanthus tree in the backyard is heavenly scented. • Noon: Purchase [Tea Cakes] as souvenirs at the academy entrance. Look for the "Xunyang Tower" brand and avoid loose tea. • Afternoon: [Donglin Giant Buddha]. Make a wish while climbing the 487 steps. The lighting at the summit is free, don't be fooled into paying. Day 4: Time to Unwind ✅ Relaxation Mode: • Spend the day at [Lushan West Sea]. Choose the "Fishing Village Islands Route" and doze off in a hammock on Canghai Island. • Hidden Mission: Buy freshly picked oranges from the island owner. 5 RMB gets you a plastic bag full, three times cheaper than in the scenic area! 🍜Food Recommendations and Warnings Must-Tries: 1️⃣ [Poyang Lake Wine-Soaked Fish] 15 RMB/box. Slightly sweet with a wine aroma, perfect with porridge. 2️⃣ [Radish Cakes] 2 RMB/each. Choose those freshly fried in the oil wok, as they become tough when cold. 3️⃣ [Lushan Cloud Mist Tea] 50 RMB/can at farmer's markets. Sample before buying. Avoid at All Costs: ❌ The "Three Stones Feast" in the scenic area is overpriced. Order Stone Ear Mushroom Tofu at local eateries for better value. ❌ Avoid the fruit slices at the Yangtze River Bridge night market, especially those marked with "seasonal price". ⚠️Hard-Learned Lessons 1️⃣ Purchase the 170 RMB combo ticket for the Lushan sightseeing bus! Buying individual tickets will lead to confusing routes. 2️⃣ The Xunyang Tower entrance fee isn't worth it! Capture better panoramic shots from outside. 3️⃣ Choose the 2pm ferry for West Sea. Fewer crowds in the afternoon, plus you can enjoy the sunset. 4️⃣ Think twice before visiting restaurants recommended by taxi drivers. 5️⃣ Look for the "Liang Yilong" brand when buying tea cakes. Many counterfeit versions exist. 🌟Summary: The Right Way to Experience Jiujiang The secret to enjoying Jiujiang in four days can be summed up in four words: "Rise early, explore." Wake up at 5am to chase the morning mist of Lushan, wander through alleys to discover decades-old shops, and wait for a sunset over Luoxingdun—this is the authentic Jiujiang that travel bloggers don't dare to reveal.
