A wonderful week-long trip to Peru during spring break in March. On March 9th, I flew from Hartford to Atlanta and transferred to Quito, the capital of Ecuador, where I stayed overnight. On March 10th, I flew to Lima, the capital of Peru, and then to Cusco in the evening. I checked into the Wyndham Hotel and met with the owner of the travel agency. I paid $500 for two people and learned about the general itinerary. On March 11th, at around 6:40 am, a car picked us up from the hotel lobby to start the Sacred Valley day tour. We visited the Chinchero traditional textile market, Moray archaeological terraces, Maras salt mines, and Ollantaytambo Sanctuary. After lunch, we skipped the Pisac Sanctuary and took a train directly to the foot of Machu Picchu Mountain. In the evening, the Machu Picchu day tour group contacted us at the hotel and explained the itinerary for the next day. On March 12th, at 7:00 am, we gathered in the plaza and queued for the 8:00 am bus that took us to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. We spent about half a day exploring the entire Machu Picchu city. At noon, we took the bus back down the mountain and had lunch. After lunch, we took the train back to Ollantaytambo and then a car back to Cusco. By the time we checked into the hotel, it was already dusk. On March 13th, I visited the Twelve-Angled Stone, the Temple of the Sun, and the Plaza de Armas in the morning. The first stop is the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, a 16th-century church known for its Baroque architecture and catacombs. It is one of Lima’s most historic religious sites. However, we only went into the church next door, and did not go into the museum part which required payment. Next, we strolled around the Plaza Mayor de Lima, which is the historical center of Lima and is surrounded by important buildings such as the Presidential Palace, City Hall, and the Cathedral. We accidentally discovered a free museum, Museo Central - MUCEN. The exhibitions inside exceeded our expectations. Many precious collections about Peruvian history and culture were displayed. For free travelers who want to learn about local culture, this is a place not to be missed. Next, we walked over to eat Churros, Churros Virgen del Carmen S.A.C! Fortunately, I don’t have two people, so one person goes to pay and the other one queues to get Churros. We ordered the caramel-flavored Manjar Blanco, which is delicious! One ticket costs 3.5sol (about NT$30). In fact, if we had known this earlier, we should have lined up early in the morning near the Basilica of St. Francis and the Convento de San Francisco, because there were not many people at that time! Because when I was queuing I realized that was where we were going to get off the taxi! Afterwards, we went to the Inka Market which was recommended by many people. We thought there would be many unique handicrafts, but in fact the types of goods there were very uniform, which made it a bit boring to visit. In the end, we left without buying anything. In comparison, I prefer the things I saw in Cusco or Pisac before, which had richer texture and choices. Next, we went to Al Toke Pez for lunch and ordered a takeout combo, which included a small portion of seafood fried rice, ceviche and fried squid for only 30 sol (about NT$250). My friend and I both agreed that the fried rice was delicious, but the ceviche was a bit sour. However, the price and portion are very reasonable, I really recommend it! In the afternoon, we went to the Barranco district with a strong artistic atmosphere. We first went to Dédalo, where there are many exquisite handicrafts and design products. The prices are slightly higher, but the quality is quite good. Afterwards, we had a cup of coffee at Caleta Dolsa Coffee and enjoyed some relaxing time. Finally, we accidentally walked into a weekend market and couldn’t help buying more stones. I felt like I was about to become a stone collector! Today’s trip in Lima was really fulfilling and enjoyable. Tomorrow will be our last day in Peru! Happy times always pass by so quickly. The journey is coming to an end. There is only one week left before we return to Taiwan!

It is of great significance for understanding Peru's history and culture. • Larco Museum (Museo Larco): Located in an 18th-century building, the museum is famous for its extensive collection of pre-Columbian pottery, especially its unique collection of erotic pottery, which showcases the artistic creations and lifestyle of ancient Peruvians. In addition, the museum also holds temporary exhibitions regularly. • Miraflores: • Miraflores Malecón (Malecón de Miraflores): Built along the Pacific coast, it is a scenic walkway and bike path. Here, you can enjoy the magnificent ocean view of the Pacific Ocean, cliffs, and Lima's city skyline. At dusk, you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset view. There are many cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby, making it a great place for leisure and entertainment. • Barranco: Lima's most artistic district, with many colorful buildings, street art, and music performances. 2. Accommodation • Miraflores: This area is Lima's upscale residential area and tourist hotspot, with a beautiful environment and high security. There are many luxury hotels and resorts here, such as Hilton Garden Inn Lima Miraflores Pardo Hill. • San Isidro: Another affluent district in Lima, with many luxury hotels and apartments. • Lima Old Town: If you want to experience Lima's history and culture in depth, you can choose to stay in the Old Town. There are some historic hotels and guesthouses here, such as Sheraton Lima Historic Center Hotel. 3. Cuisine • Ceviche: One of Peru's national dishes, it is made by marinating fresh raw fish in lemon juice, onion, chili pepper, cilantro, and other seasonings. It has a fresh and delicious taste, with a balance of sour and spicy flavors, making it very appetizing. • Roasted guinea pig (Cuy): This is a traditional Peruvian dish. Unlicensed taxis have a red and white sticker and are cheaper, but there is a certain safety risk. • Car rental: If you want to explore Lima and its surrounding areas freely, you can choose to rent a car. 5. Precautions • Climate and sun protection: Lima has a tropical desert climate, with strong sunshine and a large temperature difference between day and night. • Safety issues: In some areas of Lima, such as the remote streets of the Old Town and near some slums, there may be safety hazards.

It was my second time to Lima, Peru 🇵🇪 Just to share my favorite places 🙌 We explored Plaza Mayor (Main Square). We enjoyed a morning stroll in this lively area filled with local artisans, cats, and a vibrant atmosphere. 📍Av. Diagonal, Miraflores 15074, Lima We also explored Huaca Pucllana. We enjoyed the ancient pre-Inca pyramid in the heart of Miraflores, which offered a unique view of Lima's ancient past. 📍Calle General Borgoño cuadra 8, Lima 15074, Peru 💰 ~15 PEN (around $4 USD) We also enjoyed our lunch at La Mar Cebichería. We ordered "Ceviche Mixto" (mixed seafood ceviche) and "Choritos a la Chalaca" (mussels with salsa). All the food was really good and we enjoyed it a lot. 💰 ~80 PEN (around $22 USD) per person 📍Av. We strolled around the beautiful park overlooking the ocean, known for its colorful mosaic walls and a sculpture called "El Beso" (The Kiss). 📍Malecón Cisneros, Miraflores 15074, Lima We also walked around Larcomar Shopping Center. Miraflores is very lively and Happening area of Lima. You can find various snacks shops, Beautiful Park, sea side and people enjoying. There are Bars, Restuarants just walk away from Broadwalk. There are many hotels and Hostels where most of the tourists stay. from Miraflores you can reach to park where there is walkway and Statue of Love. From park area you can walk down and enjoy Sea Side. There are also restaurants which sell sea food. In night with lights it looks more beautiful. Ine can easily soenf 3-4 hours.

Eat, pray, love! Eating Nutella-covered crepes on the cool coastal cliffs of Lima, Peru is fantastic! The weather in Lima, where I stayed for a few days, was disappointing because it was gloomy, but despite that, the night, a very romantic sunset is drawn. We sat down next to the statue of the Love Park, and shared a crepe, and we didn't even realize how much time had passed! There were also many couples around the statue.
