Decent spot for a quick bite after the castle. Sat outside, caught a bit of the view. Food was okay, nothing fancy but it did the job. A bit pricey for what it was, but you're paying for the location I suppose.

Stayed at the hostel, so this was my go-to spot. The breakfast is a decent option for the price – you get a full plate, not just a token croissant. Good for fueling up before a day out.

Nice little pub. Had the pierogi, portion was huge! Could barely finish it. Beer selection's decent. The old oval bar is pretty cool.

A nice little find off Nicolson Street. The coffee was a pleasant surprise alongside the usual drinks.

The cask ale here is always spot on. They keep the lines clean, so the beer tastes fresh and crisp. It's a proper pub pour, not like some places where it's warm and flat.

Staff are always so friendly here. They gave us some really good menu suggestions, which was helpful as we were a bit overwhelmed by the choices. Felt very welcome.

A nice lunch spot. The fish and chips came out quickly, which I always appreciate. The server was polite and came by once to see if we needed anything else. It made for a relaxed, easy meal.

The open fire makes it feel so cosy, especially on a chilly evening. I love their sundaes, they're a proper treat after the roast. Staff are always smiling, even when it's packed.

Great spot for a quick lunch. The classic fish and chips came out fast and hit the spot. Nice local vibe, and the staff were friendly. Perfect for when you need a decent bite without the wait.

Came for a gig, grabbed a local beer. The crowd was friendly, vibe was good. But honestly, the pint was £6.50. For a local brew, that felt a bit steep.

The haggis and black pudding fritters were a really nice idea. The black peppercorn sauce was the star for me, went perfectly with them. Found the chairs a bit hard for a longer sit, but the service was lovely and attentive.

Love that it's dog-friendly. The toasties are tasty, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Nice spot for a relaxed bite.

Popped in for a quick pint. Got chatting with some regulars at the bar. Small spot, no frills, but has a real local feel. Perfect for a fast, friendly drink.

The bar was packed but they kept things moving. Got a really interesting local craft lager that went perfectly with the small plates we ordered. Service was spot-on even during the rush.

Proper old-school Edinburgh pub. They've got a great selection of German beers on tap, which is a nice change. The music's a bit of an odd mix, but it works. Solid spot.

I'm a sucker for a good drink pairing. The Mediterranean tart was solid, but the real star was how well a crisp white wine went with it. The blueberry croissant was decent, just a touch sweet for my taste. Good vegan options overall.

Love the cosy vibe here, perfect for catching up with friends. Their flat white is so smooth, just the right spot to escape the usual chain coffee shops. A bit busy on weekends though.

Popped in for a quick bite. The chicken wrap was solid, and they had a decent selection of local craft beers on tap. Went with a pale ale that paired nicely. Service was quick enough when the bar crowd thinned out.

The grilled sea bass was the standout. Skin was perfectly crisp, flesh moist and flaky. The lemon butter sauce had a nice hint of herbs. Could have used a touch more seasoning, but the quality of the fish itself was undeniable.

Been coming here for years, the food’s always spot on. What keeps me coming back is their wine list—they’ve got some interesting local bottles that pair beautifully with the specials. Makes for a relaxed, proper evening out.

The staff were really patient with our group, we were in no rush. The loaded fries were huge, could easily share. Burger was tasty too.

Duncan was a fine bartender. The langoustine on rye was pretty good, really enjoyed it. The view of the chapel is lovely, though it was a bit busy when we went.

Had a small gathering here. The team was pretty good at accommodating us. Made the evening feel quite nice. The space is decent for a private event.

The bartender was so lovely! She walked us through the menu and you could tell she really loves the drinks here. Made choosing what to order with my friends so much easier. A nice touch.

Nice little outdoor space at the back, and they're dog-friendly! 🐶 It's always clean and tidy, which is important to me.

The lamb shank was cooked just right, fell off the bone. The red wine sauce had a nice depth to it, not too sweet. Portion was generous. That's what I came for.

Stopped by the taproom inside the brewery. Loved the modern industrial vibe. The Breakfast IPA was a standout – one of the best beers I've had in ages.
