TheForkUserWonderful food, excellent service and great atmosphere. We had a lovely dinner while being served by Ioana and her colleagues. Be aware, the primi (pasta) dishes were huge. After sharing 1 anti-pasti, having our own primi's and sharing a secondi we were -unfortunately- too full to share a dessert. Ioana was aware of this and offered us a digestive, which really helped. Thank you for your great care!

We had a wonderful dinner (there were 8 of us) - the food was fantastic, the service was excellent and the atmosphere can't be beat. This is where the locals go, and now I know why. Everything in their menu is absolutely delicious, and we highly recommend reading about the history of this neighborhood before sitting down and probably one of the most important places in the world. It is a special experience. This restaurant is owned by two brothers, and one is kosher and dairy free whereas the one right down the street is not. So, you have a lot of choice. We loved it so much. It was such a special and moving dinner, between the delicious food and embracing the heartbreaking history – it is an experience that you really should not miss. Afterwards, you can cross the bridge into Travestere for a stroll.

TheForkUserAs Casa Prati was our first experience with The Fork, we went back after four years. The restaurant has a nice interior and we enjoyed a warm welcome. We selected some local appetizers (fiori di zucchini and polpette di melanzane) a main dish and some side dishes. The service was very (too) fast, so it took some effort to finish the abundant portions. The quality was really good. Not too much refinement in the presentation but tasteful food. Casa Prati had quite an extensive wine list too, with lots of wines at very affordable prices. A really good restaurant anyway.

Dress smartly as the venue is pristine. Not pretentious though but just a nice change from the touristy run of the mill restaurants. Definitely recommend a visit

All the dishes were beautifully prepared.The Tartare di manzo con melanzane alla norma, stracciatella di bufala e pasta kataifi was perfectly made—the meat melted in the mouth and was hand-cut. The Controfiletto di manzo (250g) con senape al miele, served with roasted potatoes, was an incredibly tender beef cut.For dessert, we had the Cheesecake Frutti di bosco / Pistacchio, which was also delightful. It’s rare to find a restaurant with such good cuisine in a highly touristy area.The dining space was small and quite simple in decor, but the quality of the food more than made up for it.We will definitely be coming back!

TheForkUserStaying in Frascati for New Year we found il Borgo degli Artisti by accident as we were struggling to find a restaurant that didn’t have a fish set menu, which is traditional for New Year in Italy. An Italian friend called the restaurant for us to ascertain if the menu would be predominantly meat and to our relief it was. So we arrived for our reservation and were greeted by Marina, daughter of Owner /Chef Claudio - now 80 years young and a passionate rugby player for Roma in years gone by. The restaurant interior was very rustic and the walls were covered by framed rugby jerseys from around the world. Setting the scene for a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner. The courses started with a delicious soup and crostini, followed by beans and bacon, followed by gnocchi and pasta all washed down with the most delicious of local Frascati white &red wines. All this to be followed by a meat course but unfortunately we had miscalculated the time needed for several course dinner and had made arrangements with Roman friends to meet them at our hotel to see in the new year together. So we missed the next few courses, though have to say the food was so plentiful I’m not sure we could have eaten it all. Marina was distraught we had to leave early before the set meal was finished and even Claudio, the chef came out with a bottle of Prosecco for us to celebrate the New Year before we had to run off. This is not a 5 star restaurant, but if you are looking for 5 star home cooked food that is simply delicious, served by wonderful, friendly, and with a sense of humour, staff then I encourage you to give this restaurant a try. Thank you Claudio, Marina and Gigi - you made our New Year’s Eve very special - happy New Year and we hope to see you again on our next visit. Fearga, graham, Roland and Barbara.
