TheForkUserOur dining experience far surpassed 5 stars! The staff were helpful, friendly and provided exceptional recommendations for our dining experience. The wine selection was exquisite. Thank you Gus’ staff for such an incredible experience!
TheForkUserThis was only my second visit / pilgrimage to La Lanterna as I don’t live in Umbria. So I chose the same 3 dishes to see whether I had imagined the quality and taste experienced during my first visit. I HAD NOT! It was just as wonderful. And all the other customers were Italian which is always a good sign. And thank you Claudio and Paola for your lovely warm welcome. See you very soon!
TheForkUserFood was amazing
TheForkUserThe restaurant was effortlessly located. Despite being an hour late, the restaurant graciously saved our table. The service was impeccable - neither too fast nor slow. The owner's warmth was truly memorable, and our conversation about the restaurant's history was enlightening. The food was exquisite, and the taste of the bruschetta still lingers in my memory as unparalleled. As a vegetarian, I discovered delightful dishes and effortlessly harmonized my meal with that of my carnivorous husband. Great restaurant to go
_TI***lbI was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the food. The prices are reasonable considering the high standard of service and cuisine offered.
TheForkUserThe restaurant is in a medievil cellar below a former Palazzo which now houses the museo anticho and the municipio di Genga. It cannot get any more romantic and atmospheric. The food was excellent. The service was also very good even if the proprietor could crack a friendly smile every once in a while.
TheForkUserWhat a great italian experience.Friendly staff they make you feel very welcome. The food tasted lovely.Pure and fresh.
_TI***ddA must-visit for anyone in Todi! The combination of quality food, friendly service, and a beautiful location makes this place stand out. The desserts, especially the homemade tiramisu, are a delightful way to end your meal.
TheForkUserWe enjoyed an exceptional lunch at this charming restaurant. It is Michelin recognised and recognised by the Italian chefs association. This small family restaurant, owned and operated by generations since 1964, has beautiful views of the lake below. We did the ala carte menu. My wife loved the artichoke starter. We had the venison, our friends had the pigeon and loved it. The spice cake chocolate dessert was amazing. We had a beautiful local red wine, highly rated on Vivino and reasonably priced. The host, Luca, is the brother of the chef, Paulo Trippini, the bar next door is operated by their sister.
TheForkUserWhen you finally found the restaurant which is only possible with help by phoning the owner you are totally satisfied. The menue is very interesting, good quality, the staff is friendly and fast. We were really satisfied in all aspects even I was nearly furious when searching the place and driving around like a fool. The tartare from gamberi wasn't perhaps the optimum as it would have needed more avocado dip. All the rest was to our absolute satisfaction. Also wine by the glass. Price/quality and discount were very good.
_TI***l9The restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with delicious food made from local ingredients. The warm atmosphere and attentive service make it a perfect spot for a family gathering.
TheForkUserI highly recommend this restaurant! The food was incredible, and the service made me feel so welcome. I’ve tried other restaurants in the area and this was my favorite.
TheForkUserVery nice restaurant with very good service. The waiter was very helpful with our choice of food and wine. Love the modern, classy atmosphere of the restaurant. Food was very good and cooked as we asked.
_TI***8tA delightful restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is attentive, and the quality of the food is impressive, making it a must-visit in the area.
TheForkUserWelcoming staff who definitely care about what they do and about how guests feel. Great quality food with all local produce, home made bread. They take food and wine seriously, the wine list is full of interesting stuff and prices very reasonable when checked against the internet.Ignore reviews that mention a long wait, what we experienced were times you’d expect for something to be made fresh, nothing more. Recommend the green salad which didn’t appear on the menu but was absolutely delicious - with fennel and various leaves.Restaurant has a great spirit - our nicest evening in Umbria so far.
TheForkUserGreat food, especially the gluten free pizza, one of the best one I've ever tasted!
TheForkUserThis cozy, romantic, hidden gem of a restaurant has it all! Great owner/operator, a unique menu offering many seafood options, high quality food, friendly/professional staff, beautiful atmosphere inside and out with a terrace, and a location that is off the heavily congested main street through the city. This is a definite "must go" retaurante!
TheForkUserWe recently had dinner with friends on the outdoor covered patio which is a beautiful setting. The service was extremely attentive and the food was wonderful!
TheForkUserIf you want to enjoy top gourmet meatballs this is the place. Excellent ingredients, cosy ambience and very nice staff will create the perfect relaxing match for a dinner for two or with friends.
TheForkUserThe dinner was quite good. I had the salmon tartare with Venus rice and avocado which was excellent. The grilled sea bass was excellent. The whole fish was grilled but they filleted it for you after upon request. My husband ordered the fixed menu. His Risotto was heavy and a large portion was served. There was one mussel and two scallops on the top. Very rich a large serving for his primo. He ordered the pork and potatoes which he enjoyed a great deal. Then he ended his meal with tirimisu, which was delicious. The service was lacking. It took us quite a while to get seated even though we had reservations and the dining room was pretty empty. There was no waiter out in the dining room for quite some time and one of the hotel employees came from the lobby bar to assist. One waiter was on for the whole evening service. Once the girl from the lobby helped, the server could catch up and he was quite nice. Definitely worth the trip!
_TI***cxIf you're looking for a cozy place with a unique culinary experience, this restaurant is it! The snail dishes are prepared with great care, and the service is friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for a special night out.
_TI***jtI had an amazing dinner with my family at this restaurant. The carbonara was a hit with my daughters, and I thoroughly enjoyed the beef burger. The service was quick and the staff were courteous and respectful.
TheForkUserMy wife and I live in a neighboring city much of each year and, frequently, try to find and experience restaurants new to us. Prior reviews of this restaurant gave it high marks but none of the reviews had been recent. We decided to take our chances and were delighted that we did. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Alessandro, the owner and chef, personally attended to our table and explained his various offerings. We sat inside because it was windy but, there is a nice outside dining area that filled up by later in the evening. We anticipate returning in the next few days and bringing friends.
