TheForkUserL'Aromate is a gem of a spot, and our visit there was the dining highlight of our stay in Caen. We will of course remember the delicious fare, exquisitely conceived and presented. Our server, Paul was a delight--warm and so accommodating--and the lovely ambience afforded us the quiet calm we were seeking. Lovely wine offerings. Affordable, approachable elegance.

TheForkUserWe enjoyed our meal in the garden. We initially chose the restaurant because of the combination of dog friendly environment and good quality food. We were not disappointed with either. If you have some walking shoes with you there is also a great circular walk, mostly off road on forest tracts.

TheForkUserService was good. Food was good value. However, I was concerned about the dark colour of the Tuna Sashimi. It was also a bit tough. It should be redish in colour, vibrant and tender. It wasn’t!! Also some of the salmon nigiri was chewy. It’s a sushi bar and the fish should have been perfect. It wasn’t!!

We were shocked to learn they had no stars yet, as overall they were better than all of the one and two star restaurants we visited. TheForkUserIt was a great experience. The decoration is nice. our table by the window has a good view of the garden and the water. The staff is very helpful in explaining the menu though they are not too fluent in English. The quality and presentation of the food are excellent, especially the two fish dish we ordered. We also enjoyed the view of sunset at the garden after dinner.
