The baked escargots were a nice start. Well-seasoned, not intimidating at all. Paired them with a glass of Sancerre, which cut through the richness nicely. A solid choice for a first course.

Been coming here for years. The broth is always that same balanced Hachioji style, never too heavy. I can finish the whole bowl every time. That consistency is why I keep coming back.

The octopus roll at the counter was the one. Clean, slightly chewy texture, a hint of brine. The horse mackerel was even better, sharp and fresh. You can see the chef&#39;s hands move. That&#39;s it.

Really liked the vibe here. The cafe-style building looks nice sitting out in the fields. Sat at the counter and watched them make the soba by hand, which was pretty cool. The terrace for dogs is a nice touch too.

The lunch set is a steal. Got the daily special with multiple dishes for under 1,000 yen, and they even do refills on some things.
