The chef and proprietor performs both his roles skillfully and creatively. We had the refreshing, freshly caught amberjack ceviche to start, followed by another house speciality, home-made ravioli stuffed with herbs from the garden and pecorino and parmesan cheese, topped with diced, fresh tomatoes. Our main was yet another Bilaia special, the fried, breaded gamberi, “cotoletta” style, perfectly cooked. We chose a simple Ligurian house vermentino that nicely accompanied our dishes. TheForkUserThis was such a beautiful place to eat. We are six ladies traveling across Italy and this was my favorite restaurant so far. The food was fresh and flavor excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful and never rushed us. They also have a cooking class that I wish we had taken. If staying down in Monterosso, it is a 10 minute taxi ride. Well worth the trip. TheForkUserThe restaurant was a little difficult to find when walking from train station because it seems to be in a parkIt’s a small restaurant and there appears to be just the one waitress. However, she was serving all tables with efficiency. We loved the charming interior and could imagine how lovely it would be to eat outside For Americans, be forewarned that the menu is handwritten so a little difficult for us to read (although we both speak conversational italian). I ordered the menu degustazione which was an antipasto, primo, wine, water, dessert and coffee. It was all seafood based and delicious. The dessert was panna cotta with frutti di bosco - also delicious. I would recommend and would definitely go backSantapizza
