Real Portuguese Cuisine

TheForkUserWe spent our first night in Lagos at Real Portuguese and it did not disappoint! We sat outside. The inside is lovely as well. Very quaint. In Old Town but out of the craziness and touristy areas. A more laid back, upscale experience. The service though a bit slow at times was welcoming and efficient. Food was excellent. I had the octopus and my husband had the filet mignon. Highly recommend!

I like the way the waiter listened to our preferences and tastes and made recommendations accordingly. Really tasty dishes all uniquely flavoured. Absolutely worth a visit when in the Algarve. I wish Indian restaurants in the UK were as good as this.

TheForkUserLocated Outside the tourist district but deserves to be highly recognized. Food was delicious and beautifully presented from appetizers to main dishes. We had the fried squid strips, pork truffle balls, black squid linguine with shrimp and pork belly . All were amazing. Service was great as well.

The food on both occasions was superb as was the service and the lamb chops on the first night were exquisite - nearly ordered them again. First night the ambience was quiet with only a couple of other diners but the waiting staff were top notch and gave of their time with some great chat. It was busier the second night which gave the place a much better atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit to this super restaurant.

Everything was as described in terms and heat. The decor is a little tired but our waiter made up for that in the attention he paid to our table.

The staff found out it was my husband‘s birthday and did so many things to… They sang happy birthday and brought him a cake for breakfast in the morning… Our server wished him a happy birthday and brought a glass of wine… The restaurant is such a stunning location and the food is outstanding. We would definitely stay and dine again!

Restaurante Villa Velha ended up being one of the best dining experiences of our entire trip.The paella was hands-down the best we’ve ever had. But what really set the experience apart was the chef himself—a warm, passionate Spaniard who took the time to explain every detail behind the dishes. We learned that the pata negra was aged for 3 years, and the razor clams came from a local cove where the salt levels in the water are unusually high—giving them a more intense flavor and delicate size.The Catalan cream and cheesecake were also exceptional—light, flavorful, and clearly made with care.You can feel the heart in this place, from the food to the people. If you’re looking for an authentic, memorable meal while in the Algarve—book this place.

There is a wonderful menu of fresh and excellent ingredients, I think I have tried most of the dishes at this stage and all are fabulous. The staff are excellent and lovely characters. Thank you to the Palm Beach team for making our visit so wonderful yet again.
