TheForkUserLovely dinner on the beautiful terrace upstairs. We started with cocktails which were delicious. The staff is efficient, professional and, above all, extremely helpful and friendly. The young owner (the one "on duty" that night) is very kind and he runs the restaurant in the best possible way. The seafood (oysters and razor clams for us), the fish (stone bass) and the octopus were very fresh and tasty. The beautiful wine list will meet everyone's taste and budget. Long story short: a beautiful place, a very pleasant experience and some delicious food. Thumbs up !

TheForkUserHad a wonderful birthday dinner here to celebrate the occasion. Make sure to make a reservation in advance, as it’s a popular place. Really delicious menu and drinks. They also have a kids menu which is wonderful. The service was great and they went above and beyond our expectations. I recommend the seafood paella for 2 people. It was the best we have had! The desserts were delicious and lots of options to choose from.

TheForkUserWith reading low reviews we were not expecting anything special . We dinned in this restaurant a few years ago and our remembrance was good. On this visit the food was OK and service at first was very good. This all went down hill when receiving the bill so many mistakes . It was not corrected correctly. So we worked out what it should of been and left the correct payment. This also included fork discount. I recommend you check your bill before making payment. Not a great experience so will not re visit.

TheForkUserHad to wait about 45mins for the food to arrive, even though there was only one other family of 4 in the restaurant! The food was nice, when we asked for the dessert menu he said all they had was icecream! The bill came and instead of 50% off they had only given us 30% off and he said nothing could be done as the manager wasn't here, even though on the receipt it said the Manager had done our bill. I asked a few times for the complaints book but he kept saying as we booked through The Fork, nothing to do with them! First he said it's the first 7 lucky people to book each day get 50% off then after a while he pointed to a table of 7 people saying you only get 50% off if you are 7 people or more! He then contacted The Fork and he said as I amended the booking to come 30mins later than I first said the discount was now only 30%, even though on The Fork 50% off was still there! I contacted The Fork myself who apologised and gave me 2000 Yums in compensation and would talk to the restaurant

TheForkUserWe came here as a group of 13 to celebrate a friends birthday. I booked in advance via the Fork. I called in the day before to ask if the booking can be changed to an hour later and it wasn’t a problem. The kept a cake and balloons that I delivered and set up on the table for when our party arrived. It was a beautiful and fun evening. Staff and food was excellent and there was a singer with acoustic guitar singing in Portuguese and English. Such an amazing night. Thank you to all the team who made this a special evening. I have recommended this restaurant to others at our Hotel and they have came back and said thank you for the recommendation. This is the best restaurant and bar in the whole area. Visit it, you won’t regret it. Thank you Hope ????????????????????

TheForkUserWe had read that this was a great fish restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. We had the clams which were fantastic big and juicy! The fish soup was souper tasty and full of fish and flavour. We finished off with the tuna (2 large pieces each) which was perfectly cooked somewhat al dente but all the better for it, it came with sweet potato and potato fries the best I’ve had in years. The Blu thing to remember is to take cash as the card reader wasn’t working or at least check before ordering.

TheForkUserMentes tapas bar serves fantastic Portuguese style tapas dishes. The service was super friendly and professional. The atmosphere is cozy and we were seated at a large table which was great so you had lots of space to share all the tasty tapas. The beef strips with pepper sauce, the melted goat cheese, the home made tacos and the garlic prawns were all fantastic. The flavors are nicely balanced and the portions are perfect for sharing. We completed our meal with an exquisite chocolate petit gateau and a tasty lemoncake with ice cream. The gateau was the best we have tasted in a while, in fact it was so good we ended up ordering another extra gateau. A special compliment for the manager, she really made us feel very welcome and ensured everything ran very smoothly during our thoroughly enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend visiting Mentes tapas and we will be coming back again soon.

TheForkUserSpectacular meal! My husband got the steak of the day which came with fries and a salad. He pushed away the salad and ate every last bite of the steak and fries and said it was incredibly delicious. Then reluctantly went to the salad and said ‘wow, even the salad is exceptional!’. It had red beet carpaccio and pomegranate seeds. Looked lovely. He rarely touches salads but finished this one : ) I had the rice with seafood for two which was enough for three. Wow! Just wow! The fresh herbs and light broth with large pieces of crab, shrimp and mussels made it so special. Just don’t wear a white blouse as the broth can splash a bit when cutting into the crab claws. Highly recommend! Would definitely dine there again. Our server, Antonio, was very kind and helpful.


