TheForkUserThis establishment is truly amazing, and the chef's creations are both whimsical and delicious. Our sommelier was absolutely fantastic, and we got seated at the best table in the house, right in front of the wine cellar. I cannot say enough about how friendly and wonderful the service team were. Truly fantastic. We loved everything we tried on the pre fixe tasting menu, and the restaurant was very happy to accomodate our dietary restrictions (I am vegetarian and my husband does not eat red meat).
TheForkUserWe visited this restaurant earlier evening so it was quiet. The welcome was friendly and after a drink we were shown to our table in the very cute dining room. The man who waited on us was very friendly and helpful assisting us with the menu.. The food was very well presented and cooked perfectly and very tasty. We had a very positive experience here and would recommend.
TheForkUserWe had a lovely meal at Casa Urola. The ambiance is cozy and elegant without being pretentious. The service was gracious and friendly, and the food was excellent (we chose the lobster salad, the foie gras, the steak tartare and the spider crab donostia/style). The amuse buche was a delicious leek purée with smoked idazabal cheese. A perfect evening in San Sebastián!
TheForkUserThe setting is beautiful with a Mountain View. The restaurant itself has a charming interior. We had tbe 9 course vegetarian menu for one and the a regular 9 course menu too. All the food was prepared and seasoned to perfection. The staff were very friendly and informative and a each course arrived at a good pace.
TheForkUserhigh quality food, warming and gentle staffs and romántic ambiente in a quite area out of crowded San Sebastián city. Highly recommended. Super codfish tortilla and good wine selection
TheForkUserService was on spot. Food was very creative, nicely presented and most dishes were a 10 for us (delicious). Wine pairing could improve a little bit.
TheForkUserThe couple that runs this restaurant is great. The cuisine, the presentation, their attitude! Everything was so good! They deserve a Michelin star!!!
TheForkUserLovely meal in a pleasant location. Meat was excellent, if slightly underdone even for a medium rare meat lover! But as the taste was great, we were still satisfied and would definitely return, maybe in summer?
TheForkUserIf you’ve traveled to Tolosa you have already made an effort to get to this restaurant.Like us you may have seen it on an episode of remarkable food ( something like that), on to.Well I’ll make this quick. If you like steak, good wine and a rustic and authentic restaurant this is the place for you. The steak( veggies/vegans not welcome) is absolutely sublime. We reserved our table a year ago, and were rewarded with a seat right by the charcoal grill. So as well as the fantastic food we could see the grill man working and carving the steak. So food, theatre, and fabulous staff. A real treat for the senses. Some idiots say it’s expensive, we’ll add the whole lot up and I beg to disagree!
TheForkUserThe food and service were the best we’ve had in Spain! The tasting menu offered a wide variety of delicious dishes and we enjoyed all of them immensely. The staff was extremely attentive to our daughters’ allergies while carefully explaining each course. We would definitely return to Da Filippo!
TheForkUserGood food, we had pintxos. Service was also good as we were served by a waiter speaking French. For lunch time, I think it is best to ask for a table outside to have a better ambiance.
TheForkUserThe name Gastrobar is a little misleading because it is quite a large restaurant in a hotel. But the food and service was excellent. Very enjoyable evening.
TheForkUserIt feels like a true Basque restaurant where locals go. The food is exceptional. The staff are all very polite and helpful. We had a memorable meal. Shall return.
TheForkUserWonderful restaurant setting and food courses. Very clever from the kitchen, although some more information about each course in writing on a menu would be really helpful. We had the top tasting menu with wines pairings. The sequencing and flow of each course either wines was slightly chaotic, suggesting the team may have been short staffed. Sommelier was very knowledgable and friendly. The ambience was somewhat spoilt as the dining space was not busy, but fully lit rather than being more softly lit. Although the sunset and then the view over San Sebastián was stunning, you are looking at a reflection of a half empty very white dining room in the glass windows! I’m sure with some thought this could be much improved
TheForkUserOur server was extremely friendly, the food was extremely fresh and delicious and the value was excellent. Add all that to a great harbor location and you can't lose.
TheForkUserIf you are living in this neighborhood you cannot go wrong with this restaurantWaiters speak English, explain the menu well and guides us properly with portionsPrices were reasonable given the quality of the foodThe rib eye and turbot were excellentAll the starters weee very well seasoned and good portions to share
TheForkUserSecond time for us and as memorable as the first time. Amazing food, great service and such great value for a Michelin restaurant. We had Octopus, Duck and lamb. All superb.
TheForkUserWonderful food. Belotta ham, Cod & Hake were outstanding ! The cheesecake was heavenly ????Friendly & efficient service & our little dog ???? was made welcome . We'll be back soon.
TheForkUserSmall setting outside patio overlooking forest, the menu was somewhat limited but the quality was excellent. Our service was excellent. We had a problem getting a taxi and the owner took us back to the Hotel
TheForkUserThe food was really good. Many of the items were fried but the frying was light and flavorful. I had eggplant and my husband had veal. We were both satisfied with flavor and freshness. The restaurant seems popular and needs about 3 more on staff to handle inside and outside customers. We would go back!
TheForkUserThere was a time lag between the plates that it was a little bit disappointing. The waiter has forgotten half of the wine in the bottle and we drunk the wine after finishing our lunch.
TheForkUserVery good ambiance, just need a local music background to become it perfect
