TheForkUserI would recommend this lovely restaurant. We booked it in advance of arriving in Lucca and it lived up to our expectations. We were met by a very friendly host who showed us to our table outside the restaurant with lovely views of the piazza. We were given a glass of Prosecco on the house as a welcome drink.The food was local and very tasty. I had the Tomahawk pork steak and my partner had the beef fillet. Both highly recommended dishes.The house wine was of a high standard.We will definitely visit Old Charlie when we return to Lucca.Ristorante Da Pode at Hotel Sovestro

TheForkUserWe had a fantastic lunch at Da Pode while passing through in our way to Tuscany. It was surprisingly quiet when we were there - though presumably mid-March is not peak season. The food was excellent (especially the artichoke salad) and the service was attentive and accommodating of our inability to speak Italian.Overall, a great experience in a beautiful setting.Il Melograno

TheForkUserI didn't have high expectations but the food was actually very nice, nothing bad to say about it. I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere, too bright light, personally I don't like this but it's a matter of taste. So far I felt like I wanted to come back here until the bill arrived. They added something we didn't consume, which seems to be a trend in Toscana lately. More often than not they (restaurants in general) add extra things on the bill or put higher prices than written on the menu. I don't care about spending 3 euro more but if you can't run a business without scamming costumers I won't come back, ofcourse.Bacciomeo

TheForkUserBaccimeo never fails to give the ultimate dining experience. Set in a lovely old palazzo the menu delivers a nice choice of land and sea. Perfectly cooked duck breast and pockets of pasta filled with pear and cheese were our choices for the evening. The wine list offered several choices of local wines and our service was attentive without being fussy. We will be back!La Toppa

The other patrons and staff were so friendly, the atmosphere lively, and the food some of the best we had in the 16 days we were in Italy.
