The menu was very reasonably priced, the food beautifully cooked and presented. The service was courteous and efficient and the ambience very conducive to a relaxing lunch. We are regular visitors to Angoulême and we will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Le Moulin du Roc is in an idyllic position on a pretty river. We were entertained by dancing damsel flies, the ones Rossetti describes as ‘like a blue thread loosened from the sky’, and a passing kingfisher zooming up and down. The service is professional and friendly; our waitress who did an impeccable job also advised me on how to germinate acer seeds! As for the food, it is classic French haute cuisine with imaginative details; strawberries with pea mousse, and savoury sorbets, for example. Everything delicious and attractively presented. Can’t wait till the next time.

Came for the music, stayed for the vibe. The playlist was spot-on, not too loud, just right for a Thursday night. Food was good, nothing fancy but solid. Honestly, the atmosphere is what they get right.

The service here is always so consistent, which is rare. They're genuinely attentive without being overbearing. And the bread basket is a real highlight - warm, crusty, and they keep it coming.

Been here a few times. Staff is always friendly and they know their stuff, especially if you have any food allergies or need to avoid certain things. Makes ordering easy. The vibe is pretty relaxed, good for a casual dinner.

Had a late dinner on the riverside terrace. The sunset view was stunning, really set a nice mood. Their house red was surprisingly good with the grilled fish. A bit pricey, but you're paying for the location.

The house wine is solid. Not too sweet, not too dry. It’s a good match for the food. I keep ordering it.

Lunch on the quiet terrace was lovely. The foie gras was rich and smooth, just right. The pollack was cooked perfectly, flaky and moist. A very pleasant, relaxed meal.

Creative menu, tried the duck confit pasta. A bit pricey, but the flavors were spot on. Portion was decent. Would go back just for that dish.

The burgers are pretty good, with decent ingredients and nice flavor. Service was friendly, though a bit slow at the start.

The woodland view from the table was so peaceful. Food was beautifully presented and tasted lovely. Just a note, the chairs were a bit firm for a long, relaxed lunch.

Family lunch spot. Simple dishes, well-seasoned. Desserts are generous, not too sweet. Good for a quick bite with the kids.

Cozy spot, loved the modern decor. The wine list had some interesting local finds. Paired a light red with the pasta, worked nicely. A bit on the quieter side for a Friday, but that suited me.

Comfy chairs in a modern space. Perfect for a quick bite. Got the chicken sandwich, came out fast. Good for a lunch break.

The owner's attention to detail really comes through in the homemade food.

A bit of a walk to find it, but that terrace... wow. Just a few tables under the trees, felt like a secret garden. The light was perfect as the sun went down. Made the whole evening.

Booked a month ahead and it was worth the wait. The presentation is stunning, but the portions are quite small for the price. I left feeling like I needed a snack afterwards.

For those unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a great introduction. The dishes are consistently excellent, and the naan is a standout!

The live music was a nice touch, and the staff remained so friendly even as the restaurant filled up. My cocktail was lovely. It's a comfortable spot for a relaxed evening out.

Grilled octopus was spot on, tender with a nice char. Cocktails were original, I liked the one with rosemary. A solid family spot for a Friday night.

The owner really knows his natural wines. Great recommendation for a bottle that paired perfectly with the food.

Burrata starter was incredible. Creamy, fresh, with a perfect olive oil drizzle. Homemade ice cream lived up to the pics too. That’s it.

A nice spot for a quiet dinner. The atmosphere is calm and refined. The welcome was warm, and the flavors in the dishes were varied and quite good. A solid choice for a date night.

The lamb shank was the standout. Slow-cooked until it fell apart, with a rich red wine sauce that had depth. The price was fair for the portion. That's what I came for.

Been coming here for years, and the platters are always spot on. The butcher's platter is my go-to, never disappoints. It's that kind of reliable quality that keeps me coming back.

Stopped by for lunch. The staff were really friendly, made the whole thing feel easy. Had the pasta special, it was solid. Just a nice, relaxed meal.

The staff here are so friendly and quick. I barely had to wait for anything, and they were genuinely nice. Made the whole dinner feel really relaxed.

Definitely one of the best restaurants with perfect cocktail, qualified food and warm service.

Always reliable. We’ll established and well run café conveniently located in central La Rochefoucauld. A regular visit for us. Advise you to book on Thursday and Friday!
