TheForkUserThe ambiance is wonderful and full of cute details. The food was vey good and abundant, we had nopales salad, vegan cochinita pibil tacos and vegetable tacos, as well as quesadillas. I had maracuya margarita that was super delicious but a bit warm or not cold enough. My partner had Azul Frida that he liked, but I didn't since it's very sweet. They forgot to bring us salsas for our tacos and all in all the service is not bad, but not great either. However, we had a lovely dinner and would repeat it. Just a pice of advice, the portions are really generous, so take that into account when ordering.

TheForkUserI think it's clear by now that I have a favorite Japanese restaurant in Barcelona (which I won't name because it's not the point of this post) and that I've had difficulties trying something different for lunch.But my wife’s birthday seemed like a good opportunity to change and discover something new. So I booked a table for two at Kibo Taberna.I had read very good things about that restaurant, and I knew already that the price wouldn't be the same as at my favourite place because there was no daily set: my credit card was ready ????I don't mean that Kibo Taberna is especially expensive. Japanese restaurants in general are expensive.I must admit that I was scared I would be disappointed because I thought nothing would be like my favorite restaurant. Indeed, Kibo Taberna is different. But different is good too ????We ordered 5 dishes and all of them were good, some of them even spectacular, like the Kibi Roll. The staff was very friendly and tried to help during the whole meal.The venue itself is probably the least good part of the experience: it's very simple. Not that a restaurant needs to look spectacular but don't expect much on that side.Finally the price... €84 for 5 dishes and 2 drinks is expensive. We ate enough with these 5 dishes, not too much, enough, so we can count that €40 per person is what we can expect to pay at Kibo Taberna.In conclusion, I will come back (maybe at night for the price) because, to be honest, that other restaurant apart, in terms of taste, I think Kibo Taberna is the best sushi restaurant I've tried in Barcelona so far.Quality & taste: 9/10Quantities: 8/10Atmosphere: 7/10Originality: 9/10Ratio price / quality: 8/10Service: 10/10How I felt afterwards: 9/10

TheForkUserNice place but we waited over 10 min with no acknowledgement when the place was pretty empty. The wine pour was stingy though they topped it off when i remarked, the service was fine, the ravioli was ok, the margherita pizza was good, but they threw away the box for leftovers before we could grab it - suddenly when we were going and it was too late, the table cleanup service became hyper efficient. So overall i recommend this place, i was fine, but it wasn't 9.6 stars by a stretch, i would give it an 8.
