poohwubearTu Kab Khao is one of the handful of restaurants in Phuket recommended by the Michelin Guide. The crab curry dish with vermicelli noodles are highly recommended, and I will say the flavors are strong, but reviews often warn that dishes are spicier than guests typically expect, so it pays to do some research beforehand. We definitely enjoyed the pandan juice though to help cool off from the spice. The main appeal is the Sino-Portuguese shophouse environment of the restaurant.T&K Seafood Restaurant

Emily Rose L3.5 starsThe service was nice once they opened (late, with customers standing outside in the heat). The ambiance was not great- stuffy air inside and worn furnishings and menus. The food arrived quickly and the drink selection was really nice.We loved the Tom yum goong soup with creamy broth, the pad Thai with crab, and the pomelo salad. Those dishes were flavorful and fresh tasting. The crab omelette was good but not better than the ones we ate in the night market, but we got the smaller, simple one, not the famous one with basil and shrimp paste. Maybe that one is more memorable? We were too full for dessert but the selection looked great too.Leng Kee Restaurant

Bryce van de LaarWe had dinner at Dara Serene on our first night in Koh Samui. On Steak Night the restaurant offers a range of beef steaks as well as chicken, salmon or tuna cooked on the bbq. Any steak order comes with access to the salad and soup bar, and steaks are plated with a large portion of roasted potatoes and other vegetables. This makes it good value for money. we watched the moon rise over the lagoon and enjoyed a serene and pleasant evening.PRU
