Everything from the buffet spread to start with to the main meal and dessert was first-rate, made even more special by the fact that the expected sirloin of beef was replaced by chateaubriand! Served pink at our request it was tender and succulent. Fullmarks to the chef and to Will our genial and professional server.

TheForkUserExcellent pub, obviously loved by the locals who booked it out - so make sure you have a reservation. 6.30 seems to be when they all flock in. Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. Will return when next in York

TheForkUserWe celebrated my husband’s birthday and had a 3-course dinner. They have a very good portion and the food was delicious. What we truly appreciate also is their staff Ms. Cornilia, though it was quite busy when we came in, she was very accommodating and helpful to our needs. She is constantly joyful and works with class. We will definitely come back.
