TheForkUserGreat food, simple but perfectly prepared in the tradition of la cucina italiana. Large portions, excellent and very affordable wines, and delightful service. Worth a trip down the hill from the old town. Very convenient to the Arena Santa Giuliana.
TheForkUserVery bad experience food was very poor and service The supply came cold and bad tasteThe pasta with fish taste off and smell bad too
TheForkUserLovely food and great service. Something to note - the outdoor terrace area has building works just metres away making it quite ugly to sit and look at! Not the restaurants fault but just something to note! Would still recommend
TheForkUserThe restaurant is warm and welcoming. The ambiance was lovely and the service and greeting were friendly and genuine. The space is eclectic, original, and well-thought-out. The food was excellent, in keeping with our high expectations. We love the promotion of local producers and the chef excels by ensuring the perfect marriage of the exceptional ingredients. Massive thanks go out to the staff for making our visit truly memorable. We will most certainly be back!
TheForkUserWonderful setting! The outside patio is nice and airy with lovely oversized umbrellas. The menu is creative and a tasty offering of seasonal flavors.
TheForkUserThe food was amazing and the service was great. Claudio is a real showman!! A little pricey but well worth the money.
TheForkUserLocanda del Duca is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu showcases the best of Umbrian cuisine, with every dish crafted to perfection using fresh, local ingredients. The pasta was divine, the meats tender and flavorful, and the desserts simply heavenly. The wine list is impressive, featuring excellent local selections. Service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The cozy ambiance, combined with the outstanding food, made this one of the best meals we’ve had in Italy. Highly recommend for an authentic and memorable dining experience!
TheForkUserLovely setting in a beautiful village- we enjoyed the lake view sunset over a glass of Prosecco. Dinner was wonderful and our waiter was absolutely brilliant!
TheForkUserHostaria Terra Chiama is a gem! It offers thoughtful, contemporary atmosphere coupled with attentive, knowledgeable service and delicious regional food.
TheForkUserReally delicious food - the lamb was amazing (and I say that as a New Zealander where lamb is very common) and my husband really enjoyed his pasta with sausage and truffle. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Sorento.
TheForkUserWe’ve spent 3 days in Umbria and had some lovely meals and good wine… but this is the best we have had so far. Chef Stephano, who speaks good enough English and fluent French, went out of his way to explain everything to us. For an area that is short of fish dishes he had tuna and amberjack on his menus. We had a great meal, good wine and he spent time explaining everything to us. If you’re in the area, this restaurant is a must!!!
TheForkUserBrilliant food, modern Italian dishes with a twist, attentive and knowledgeable service
TheForkUserThe waiter doesn't speak English, and the menu was entirely in Italian. Luckily, I can speak basic Italian and also used Google Translate. The first dishes we had were excellent (2 with Burrata cheese and the Cupa Cupa salad), but they were huge, and then we couldn't enjoy the second dishes. The hamburger was without a bun.The grilled chicken was excellent. We liked the grilled veal less. They don't serve tea.Take into account that the restaurant is on a steep hill. There are 2 parking spaces on the hill, otherwise you need to park on the street and climb uphill.Good toilets.
TheForkUserBeautiful presentation of food. Some menu items not available and ramen were cheap packaged noodles but the chef did excellent with the fusion of flavors with the ingredients she had. I would love to go back to try other items on the menu because there are few restaurants of this kind.
TheForkUserOne of the best meals I’ve ever had! Wonderful food prepared simply, fantastic recommendation on wine, friendly, welcoming and attentive staff, and a comfortable, elegant and yet cozy atmosphere both inside and outside. Cannot recommend enough!
TheForkUserI really recommend the meat dishes. The staff were very friendly and fast.
TheForkUserFantastic food, the pasta dish was a personal highlight, as well as my partner's main course. The local wine accompanied the food perfectly. Also the waitress serving us was outstanding, being extremely attentive, affable and professional. We are booked in again for Tuesday, it is that good.
TheForkUserThe atmosphere and surroundings add another level to the exquisite meal.
TheForkUserExcellent service. Meal timing was spaced well; not too fast, not too slow. Food was tasty and nicely presented. We had lunch on a Sunday and the atmosphere was upbeat and fun, with several families dining together.
TheForkUserGreat service, incredible burger and the best fries I’ve ever eaten!
TheForkUserExcellent food, creative recipes, well presented. Good wine from own local production. The mandarin sorbet is absolutely amazing.
TheForkUserA wonderful restaurant with great food and a nice ambience. The lamb chops and ravioli were great and the dolce to die for
TheForkUserLocanda del Podestà in Assisi is a true gem. Nestled in the heart of this historic town, the restaurant exudes charm with its warm ambiance and attentive service. The menu highlights the best of Umbrian cuisine, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and expertly crafted dishes. From the rich pasta to the perfectly cooked meats, every bite was a delight. The wine selection is impressive, showcasing regional wines that pair beautifully with the food. Whether dining inside or on the lovely terrace, the experience is unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic flavors and a memorable dining experience in Assisi!
TheForkUserThis was only my second visit / pilgrimage to La Lanterna as I don’t live in Umbria. So I chose the same 3 dishes to see whether I had imagined the quality and taste experienced during my first visit. I HAD NOT! It was just as wonderful. And all the other customers were Italian which is always a good sign. And thank you Claudio and Paola for your lovely warm welcome. See you very soon!
TheForkUserThe food was great, ambience too,but the time they took to serve the food?absolutely ridiculous, we were in that restaurant for 5 hours,ya FIVE HOURSSS,i wouldnt blame them either,i think its their first time have all of their seats booked, they were absolutely clueless on how to handle the situation, the food was great, heck it was awesome, the ambience was pleasant, but the time we waited just for our appetizers was ridiculous.
TheForkUserWelcoming staff who definitely care about what they do and about how guests feel. Great quality food with all local produce, home made bread. They take food and wine seriously, the wine list is full of interesting stuff and prices very reasonable when checked against the internet.Ignore reviews that mention a long wait, what we experienced were times you’d expect for something to be made fresh, nothing more. Recommend the green salad which didn’t appear on the menu but was absolutely delicious - with fennel and various leaves.Restaurant has a great spirit - our nicest evening in Umbria so far.
TheForkUserWe really enjoyed our dinner at Medi. We concentrated on their seafood offerings and were not disappointed. The tartar appetizer was excellent. The crab risotto was perfect. Our main courses: tuna with red onions and a whole orata (sea bream) were also really good. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great first experience with this restaurant.
