TheForkUserReally enjoyed our Sunday lunch the 2 generous slices of beef melted in the mouth, carrots,peas, mash potato, roasters, cauliflower cheese, semi crisped kale (not like crispy sea weed ) and a delicious gravy absolutely gorgeous, oh had a very nice prawn cocktail to start, a great pint and an Irish coffee to finish , staff attentive friendly no fuss and very prompt service definitely recommend , I normally prefer the wife’s Sunday roast , but will make a point of stopping here again ????(even this review doesn’t do it justice)Chez Mal at Malmaison York

TheForkUserThe food was absolutely spectacular, the best we have ever had in any Yorkshire restaurant and we have tried a few. Sublime tastes and flavours were served as tiny miracles of dishes—variable from dish to dish, all original and linked to the terroir. The wine pairing was good but unequal: two sweet wines were correct, Valpolicella was a failure but we were immediately offered an honest Bordeaux as a replacement, and the rest were exquisite. The service was top quality: friendly, competent, and efficient. Independently of our fantastic experience at Shaun Rankin, our thanks also go to the staff of Grantley Hall who helped us way and beyond in our little mishap that forced us to spend the entire following day in the hotel lobby.mylahore
