The coffee was good, my Italian friend gave it a thumbs up. But honestly, for the price, I expected a bit more. The portion felt a little small for what you pay. It&#39;s a nice spot, just not the best value.

Cozy spot, but seating is tight. Their house red was a surprisingly good match for the afternoon light.

Nice mint water, and the coffee was solid. Breakfast portions are generous for the price. Just a simple, good meal to start the day.

I don&#39;t know how Val does it! The most incredible and delicious food came out of such a small kitchen. We started off with an eggplant caviar egg dish. Indescribably delicious. We scraped the sides and really embarrassed ourselves. We both had granny&#39;s meatballs with linguine as recommended by the sweet serveur.  The dish was wonderful with hidden little crunchies. So surprising and so delicious. We will go again and highly recommend Chez Val.

Came here for the language caf&eacute; on Saturday. Ended up staying for hours playing Werewolf with a group we met there. The concept really gets people talking and mingling. A bit loud for deep conversation, but perfect for a fun, social night out.

The mint tea here is really good. They have a sugar-free version too, which I appreciate. It&#39;s a simple thing, but it&#39;s thoughtful.
