TheForkUserWe ordered a 4-course "surprise" vegetarian menu. The courses were not surprising at all, they were simply the vegetarian options that were on the menu. What a disappointment. The first course was beet carpaccio covered in oil that tasted like smoked salmon. My partner doesn't like beets, but that wasn't the kitchen's fault. When the server asked us why we hadn't eaten the starter, my partner said that he didin't like beets. Then the next course came: one tiny overcooked (store-bought?) gyoza with - yep, you guessed it - the same beet puree with "smoked salmon flavor" that was on the previous plate. What a shame. The server should not have allowed the kitchen to put the beet puree on our plates after we had indicated that it wasn't to our liking. The truffle risotto that came after that was a welcome change, but it was nothing special and the combination of dishes didn't make any sense. It was clear that this kitchen is not at all at home in vegetarian cooking. The couple sitting next to us said that their food (not veggie) was okay, but the portions were so tiny that they were still hungry and the food took far too long to arrive. The servers were polite and did their best, but we will not be back.Lent Plaza
