Raffles Shenzhen

My recent stay at Raffles Shenzhen was quite satisfying. The butler, Naomi Huang, was very friendly and accompanied us to our room during check-in. In the evening, she specially delivered cocktails to our room and even prepared a bubble bath for us, which was a nice touch. It was so relaxing not having to do it ourselves. Butler Nora also had a great attitude, and Levi from concierge was very attentive. While excellent hotel facilities are a given, it's these thoughtful details that truly make an impression. The hotel's location is also convenient, right next to Shenzhen Bay Port, and in a prime spot in Nanshan District.

The glass exterior walls of the rooms might need cleaning. However, the public areas, dining, and bar are excellent.

This isn't my first time staying here, so I arranged my room with Nora, the butler, in advance. Knowing we were traveling with a baby, Nora had already prepared all the essentials, like toiletries, toothbrushes, and bathrobes for the little one. Upon entering, we were greeted with a welcome card personally penned by the general manager and a fruit platter. In the evening, the turndown service included a sweet soup. Nora even arranged a tangerine-scented bubble bath for the baby.

My family said that overall it was pretty good. The location is excellent. The room facilities are very comfortable. The toilet quality is good. Only the food taste wasn't outstanding.

This time, I was looking for a hotel where I could relax and unwind, and the Raffles Shenzhen, number one on the list, truly lived up to its reputation and made my trip worthwhile. From the moment I got out of the car, the staff provided full service. There were always people in all public areas to guide me, making check-in and subsequent trips to various facilities very smooth. The hotel atmosphere is quiet and elegant, comfortable and cozy. The decor is also magnificent with spacious rooms, not feeling as oppressive as CBD hotels nor as noisy as resort hotels. The sea view room offered a fantastic view of Shenzhen Bay with an expansive panorama. The bathtub by the window also provided direct views of the beautiful scenery. At night, with the bathroom lights off, the combination of the sea view and city lights was just perfect. Our butler, Kathryn/Qian, even helped prepare a bubble bath. Unfortunately, I was engrossed in a game and lost track of time, so by the time I got in, the bubbles had dwindled, haha. The hotel breakfast was delicious. There were no fancy dishes, just classic and hearty options, with both Chinese and Western flavors. Even close to breakfast closing time, the chefs would constantly replenish the food, and the waitstaff would kindly remind guests to grab more if they wished. On the night I arrived, I was quite tired, so I ordered room service directly. The portions were very generous, and the taste was just as good as dining in. I ate until I was stuffed! Plus, with the free mini-bar drinks, it was truly a feast. The pool on the 33rd floor is large, with perfectly temperate and clean water. Being indoors, it's unaffected by the weather. Lifeguards were on continuous watch, even when there were only one or two people swimming, they remained attentive, making me feel completely safe. Throughout my stay, I was deeply impressed by the professionalism of the staff. Each department and area had very responsible supervisors. Whether it was room service, dining reservations, or spa and fitness, they accurately recognized guests, making the experience very smooth. After checking out, I mentioned that my high-speed train was still some time away and I wanted to find a place to sit. The staff escorted me to the lobby lounge and offered me a complimentary drink. It truly felt like Raffles genuinely cares about its customers. The next time I want to find a place to relax, I will definitely choose Raffles again.

This time, my room wasn't upgraded, and the view was quite ordinary, but the amenities were complete. I experienced the sky-high infinity pool, with a massage bubble pool right next to it. In the afternoon, I had a spa treatment, which was quite nice. In the evening, the butler came to draw a very unique bubble bath 🛁.

We checked in the day before Typhoon Koinu hit, so we were basically stuck at the hotel. But we made the most of it, enjoying the gym, pool, and the lounge. The snacks and drinks in the minibar were complimentary, which was a nice touch! And definitely don't miss the Bay View Sky Happy Hour on the 71st floor!

The room was very clean, with new facilities, and the toiletries were excellent. The service was also attentive. The manager at the afternoon tea even gave our two kids complimentary afternoon tea, which was very touching 🥹. I've had afternoon tea at many hotels, but I honestly think this hotel's afternoon tea is the best quality and very satisfying 👍

Every time I return to stay at Raffles Shenzhen, the overall ambiance is elegant and luxurious, and the room experience is comfortable and cozy. What impresses me most is the family-like service from concierge Sean. Sean is genuinely warm and considerate, with attention to detail evident everywhere. It's not just standardized procedures, but heartfelt care, as if treating a family member. He meticulously notes our travel needs, proactively enquiring about my arm injury and recovery status. Throughout our interactions, he observes my condition carefully, remembering my previous requests at the hotel; each stay, Sean proactively prepares a bubble bath for me. Many things are properly arranged in advance before we even have to ask. There’s no artificial politeness or distance; that genuine care is incredibly heartwarming. While exquisite hardware is readily available in high-end hotels, this kind of sincere, family-like service is exceptionally precious. Sean's thoughtful and detailed actions, for which I am very grateful, added so much beauty to this trip. I will definitely choose Raffles again for future visits and sincerely recommend it to everyone.
