This is a great hotel with comfortable beds, clean rooms and a nice breakfast. There is some street noise, but it diminishes in the evening

Very friendly staff. Room was very clean and spacious. Continental breakfast was good. Street noise was a little excessive but died down after 10:00PM. Parking garage across the street.

The Des Lux is an amazing hotel. Everything about our stay was top notch. We will be going back to this hotel when we are ever in the Downtown Des Moines area.

Hotel is clean. Very interesting decor, but it’s located in the perfect part of Downtown. It advertised a continental breakfast and honestly it was much more than that. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. it was great.

Room was large and comfortable, great for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was reasonable and long hours were convenient. Would gladly stay again.

I had to extend my stay several times and the staff accommodated me just fine. Also the whirlpool, sauna and steam room and fitness/exercise rooms in the lower level are excellent [the sauna and steam weren't always on and heated up when I went down but maybe I was the first for the day = I didn't want to wait so enjoyed the whirlpool]
