Banyan Tree Bangkok

This is my second time staying at one of Thailand's top luxury hotels. The service attitude and level of professionalism were both excellent. The rooms are spotless and offer great views, making it an ideal hotel for both relaxation and business travel.

Located in Bangkok's Sathorn district, Banyan Tree Bangkok is conveniently situated within a one-kilometer radius of both an MRT and BTS station, making transportation quite accessible. Check-in was a bit slow, but the staff brought snacks and drinks to ease the wait. The room was spacious and clean, and the view from the 46th floor was truly impressive, offering a panoramic cityscape of Bangkok. The staff provided service with a smile and were able to arrange turn-down service upon request, which included a complimentary small sea turtle. They were also adept at folding towels into elephant shapes. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would definitely consider staying at Banyan Tree Bangkok again on my next visit to Bangkok.

Although the front half of the Banyan Tree Bangkok mall is currently under renovation, and the storefront isn't operating normally, the staff's service is still excellent! You wouldn't even notice unless you walked through the first floor; there's no impact if you arrive by car.

Let's start with the downsides: the room's cleanliness needs improvement, and some of the amenities are a bit outdated. I was there to celebrate my birthday, but the complimentary cake and room decorations provided by the hotel weren't as impressive as I had hoped. On the positive side, the service was excellent and very satisfying. The breakfast was also quite good, with a wide variety of options and a very elegant dining environment. Overall, it's a hotel worth staying at.

Most of the hotel's public areas were under renovation. We booked a Horizon City View room on floors 33-37, but upon check-in, they claimed it was unavailable and offered an upgrade. We ended up with a room on the 23rd floor with no view whatsoever, and renovation noise even at midnight! After a phone call, they said they could move us the next day. They clearly had rooms on higher floors but simply refused to give them to Chinese guests! Do NOT accept their 'upgrade' to the Serenity One-Bedroom Suite; it's a terrible room type, with a windowless bedroom, a poor view, and very old facilities! The picture is the 'view' from the window – a construction site! Never again with Banyan Tree Bangkok, don't stay there, you'll regret it.

I knew it was under renovation before booking. From the moment I stepped out of the car until I checked into my room, the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and enthusiastic. The traditional Thai jasmine garland as a welcome gift, the refreshments served while waiting to check in, and the prompt delivery of my luggage to my room all made me feel right at home. The only minor issue was that check-in took a bit longer than expected. The view from the 44th floor was expansive. The room was spacious and clean, with a large sofa set and a big bathtub, and was described as having been recently renovated. The toiletries were of high quality, but you had to press very hard to dispense them (and only a small amount would come out), which was quite inconvenient as I had to pump multiple times.

The hotel is located in the CBD. The staff saw I was traveling with a child and upgraded us to a larger room for free. Although it's in the city center, it's very quiet. The breakfast included Chinese-style dishes, and the service staff were warm and attentive. Be sure to try the spa! Banyan Tree's in-house essential oils are fantastic, and the therapists are very professional. I enjoyed a special package (90 minutes for around RMB 800, which also included afternoon tea on the 45th floor). The surrounding area is also very convenient. Just a heads-up: durians are not allowed back into the hotel! It's a good idea to download a translation app, as most of the hotel staff speak English and Thai... Fresh fruit was replenished daily in the room. Even though it's an older brand, it still stands strong, which shows that Banyan Tree definitely has its unique charm!!!
