Manxin Mansion Beijing Shichahai Park Nanluoguxiang

I was looking forward to a comfortable night, but it turned into a nightmare. Due to strong winds, the rooftop (or metal door) of the residential building right next to our room made continuous banging noises. The sound was incredibly loud and penetrating, making it impossible to sleep all night. After calling the front desk, we were moved to a windowless room, where we were finally able to get some rest.

This Manxin Hotel, nestled in a hutong, is truly unique. The ambiance is great, and the front desk staff were especially friendly and welcoming. We were very satisfied with our stay and highly recommend it! The subway exit is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, right at the end of Nanluoguxiang, which is quite convenient. For taxis, you can set the destination to the restaurant just outside the hutong.

I've stayed at many Manxin Mansions, and I absolutely love them. They're a step above the regular Manxin Hotels, mainly because their locations are fantastic. Being situated in a traditional courtyard, the scenery is beautiful. The front desk staff are also very friendly. The overall experience was excellent. It's close to all the main attractions; basically, all of Beijing's core sights are within a few kilometers. A very satisfying trip!

We stayed at the Manxin Mansion Nanluoguxiang Beijing during the Chinese New Year with our child, and it was a wonderful experience. Tucked away in a hutong, this hotel is a charming, ancient-style courtyard that offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city, exuding a strong old Beijing charm. The location is superb; Nanluoguxiang is right outside the door, and it's very close to Shichahai and the Drum Tower, making it super convenient for kids. The service was incredibly thoughtful. They not only proactively provided kids' slippers and toothbrushes but were also very warm and welcoming to our child. The room was clean and comfortable, with modern facilities and excellent heating, making our stay very pleasant. The breakfast featured freshly made Zha Jiang Mian and other Beijing snacks, which our child absolutely loved. My only small note is that since the hotel is deep in a hutong, vehicles can't drive all the way in, so you'll need to carry your luggage for a short distance. However, this is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall excellent experience. I highly recommend it for families!

I checked in around 4:30 PM. The room type I booked only has two units in the entire hotel. One had a broken sink pipe and no hot water, and the other hadn't been cleaned yet. Apparently, there were only three housekeepers, so they couldn't keep up. I went out for a bit and came back to finally check in. The next morning at breakfast, all the tables were uncleaned, and there was only one person trying to clear them, but they couldn't keep up. While I can understand the staff shortage during Chinese New Year, it wasn't a good experience as a guest. However, both Ctrip and the hotel were responsive and solved the issues. There was a noticeable improvement on the second day, and by the time I checked out after three nights, the service felt normal. It shows they were addressing the problems, which is great! 👍

Great service and a lively location right in a hutong. The staff were super helpful, even pulling our luggage to the entrance. The room was clean, and breakfast was plentiful. It was quite busy since we stayed during Chinese New Year.
