Avoid this hotel:
1. The room given to Chinese guests is extremely poor. I booked a family pool-view room, and the moment I entered, I was shocked. There was a huge rock outside the window, as shown in picture one. I called the front desk, but no one spoke Chinese. I asked for a golf cart pick-up, waited for half an hour, and it never came. I had to drag my large suitcase and child to the front desk to change rooms myself. The replacement room was still very bad. I went to the front desk to communicate, but it was fruitless. They told me I'd have to pay extra for a better room. I was puzzled – is it that hard to simply get the room type I originally booked? Besides, considering the first room they gave me was so awful, they should have upgraded or changed the room as an apology! The front desk staff's attitude was initially good, saying they'd send a fruit platter. Then a short, stout woman, likely the supervisor, came over. It would have been better if she hadn't come at all; her arrival made things worse! Her implication was that if I wanted to change, I had to pay, absolutely had to pay. She wouldn't apologize for giving me that first room. She even said, 'All our hotel rooms are pool-view rooms.' If all rooms are pool-view, what kind of view was the first one you gave me? 2. The hotel promotes itself as family-friendly, but the environment is terrible and not child-friendly at all! The buildings are very close together, and the pool is tightly enclosed by rooms, resulting in no sunlight. The pool water is incredibly cold; kids get freezing after a short dip. Moreover, the pool is tiny, with nothing to play with besides two slides.
3. The air conditioning in the room is extremely loud, and the room is very humid!!! I had seen bloggers online mention humidity, but I really didn't expect it to be this humid here. It's understandable, though, with the buildings so close together, there's no sunlight from morning till night, just gloom.
4. The breakfast is awful. On the first day of check-in, the front desk asked me to book breakfast for my child. After eating it on the first day, it was so bad, and the management was chaotic, cleaning was very slow, and there were tons of flies, with pictures to prove it. So I wanted to cancel breakfast for the second day, but their attitude was still rigid and they refused to refund.
5. Just before leaving, I discovered a large bloodstain under the bedsheet, which was disgusting!! I have pictures to prove it.
In summary! Phuket is great, and the previous hotels I booked were all good, but this one was exceptionally bad! Poor management, poor service, poor hygiene, and poor facilities! Issues were found but no changes, no communication, no solutions. Especially that stout woman, she was the absolute worst!
