YAGU Resort Hangzhou

The hotel environment is absolutely wonderful! There's a shallow pond in front of the lobby with beautiful, charming goldfish. The lawn is neatly manicured and pleasant to look at. Behind that, there's a lake with lotus flowers just about to bloom, and white geese swimming around leisurely. From the room, you can see misty hills, which adds a unique charm. The staff I encountered were all very warm and polite, and the room was clean and well-organized. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful and quiet; in the mornings, I'd occasionally hear the calls of cuckoos, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway.

My boyfriend and I finally got to stay at the Hangzhou West Lake Yagu Quanshanzhuang, a place we've had on our wishlist for ages, and it certainly didn't disappoint! * **Garden strolls:** We held hands and wandered around the gardens, watching the leisurely white geese on the island in the middle of the lake. Time just seemed to slow down. * **Lawn afternoon tea:** We enjoyed a lovely spring afternoon tea under a canopy right next to the spacious lawn. Every photo we took turned out amazing. * **Balcony relaxation:** We sat on the balcony, sipping tea, chatting, and just soaking up the sun. All our worries just melted away. It's also super convenient for exploring the surroundings! You can walk to Guishan and Yuhuwang, both beautiful spots with fewer crowds, perfect for a romantic stroll. If you're into city walks, this place is absolutely ideal.

I stayed at Huajiashanzhuang and then at Yaguquan the next day. Both have different styles, and both are good. Yaguquan leans towards a more high-end, grand, Chinese style, while Huajiashanzhuang is more vintage and elegant, with a Republican-era feel. In terms of dining, Yaguquan's Chinese restaurant is more affordable and quite delicious. For breakfast, I prefer Huajiashanzhuang. Yaguquan's garden design, including the guest rooms, is integrated and consistent, whereas Huajiashanzhuang's design is a mix of old and new, not unified. Wandering through them, I feel like Yaguquan is a place for a vacation, while Huajiashanzhuang is more for hosting foreign guests – both are good in their own way. Additionally, Huajiashanzhuang's natural spring is a bonus, while Yaguquan is more modern with a spa and swimming pool (though I wouldn't highly recommend the spa). Yaguquan also has more animals.

The Deluxe King Room was already great, but the hotel was so thoughtful! They upgraded us to a suite because they were worried the Baduanjin competition might disturb our sleep. Opening the window to the small forest outside truly enhanced our mountain retreat experience. The complimentary photoshoot was incredibly professional; we shot in the courtyard, by the river, and other spots in just half an hour. The photo selection and editing took about twenty minutes, and the final photos turned out beautifully.

The environment is good, but there are only two sofas in the free lounge area in the lobby, which is a bit disappointing 😅. If there are a lot of people, there's no place to sit. I was with my child and wanted to find a quiet place to wait for the car, especially since someone in the free area was constantly coughing. So I went to sit on a sofa in the middle of the lobby, only to be told I needed to make a purchase to sit there. That was really frustrating. The picture on the left is the free area, and the picture on the right is the one where you have to pay. My overall experience was really not good.

The environment is excellent – tranquil, lush with trees, and filled with the songs of birds and the fragrance of flowers. The breakfast is bountiful, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. The bathroom design is particularly good, with different functions separated for convenience. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

The room was spacious and clean, and the location was excellent, not far from West Lake and Lingyin Temple. The hotel environment was elegant, like living in a big garden, and the breakfast was also very rich. Recommended.

This hotel is perfectly situated within the West Lake Scenic Area, less than a kilometer's walk from the Fish Watching at Flower Pond scenic spot. As I have a soft spot for rooms with terraces and courtyard-style architecture, I was immediately drawn to this hotel. From the moment I checked in, it was one pleasant surprise after another. The hotel itself is a feast for the eyes, with stunning views at every turn – charming courtyard landscapes, air as fresh as a natural oxygen bar, and even its own park with natural springs. Opening the floor-to-ceiling windows in my room revealed a breathtaking panorama that was truly invigorating. The hotel's garden views are every bit as impressive as those in the scenic area. The staff were warm, attentive, and very helpful in explaining nearby attractions. The hotel also boasts a gym, a swimming pool, and a spa, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The room itself was bright, spacious, and spotlessly clean. We even received a complimentary basket of snacks upon arrival. Overall, the stay was an excellent experience.
