Amatara Welleisure Resort

To be honest, my summary of Amatara Welleisure Resort is: highly recommended if you want to escape the world for a trip, but skip it if you're looking to club or bring family. The main cons are two-fold: The beach is rather small and rocky, completely unswimmable at low tide (luckily there are other beaches nearby). The location is quite remote in Phuket, so calling a car to get to the city center takes 30-60 minutes. However, what you get in return is top-tier privacy! The pros absolutely win out: The staff's attitude is incredibly nice and extremely thoughtful. While the rooms aren't the newest, they are exceptionally well-maintained. The entire resort feels like a tropical rainforest, filled with palm trees and lush greenery, where you can even spot wild parrots and toucans – the scenery is unreal! A special note: it's built on a cliffside, so you'll be walking up and down, but you can call for a buggy transfer anytime. The food quality is high, portions are large, water sports (kayak/SUP) are free, and the spa is definitely the best on the island. The staff can also help arrange car rentals and excursions for free (only charging the original price). If you want exclusive paradise and ultimate service, this is the place for you.

The hotel leaves a very pleasant impression. The only strange thing the hotel did was this: Upon check-in, we weren't thrilled with the view from our window and asked to see other options. We were told there was only ONE room available, and it was directly above the bar, next to the main pool and the main restaurant. Noise was highly probable. It wasn't even an issue that it came with an extra charge of almost $200 for 3 nights – that's quite normal. However, the hotel was almost empty; only 10-12 couples in a huge hotel. Yet, out of all categories, they could only offer us one room. I immediately mentioned that the extra charge wasn't a problem, but unfortunately, no other options materialized. Despite this, we still enjoyed everything and would happily return!

This is a very beautiful hotel with polite and friendly staff. The breakfasts are average. What really spoiled the whole stay was the extremely hard mattress on the bed. We couldn't sleep at all the first night and woke up with back pain. They changed the mattress topper to a softer one for the second night, but it didn't help. We still struggled to get up in the morning.

Stunning scenery, excellent service, this hotel is simply the best!
