My stay experience was truly a mixed bag. Let's start with the only two positives:
First, the location is fantastic, right next to ICONSIAM. It's just a short walk downstairs to a huge shopping mall with tons of dining options, shops, and popular spots. This saved a lot of hassle traveling back and forth.
Second, the hotel amenities are thoughtful. The in-house Lawson convenience store is open until midnight, perfect for late-night snacks like instant noodles, treats, or forgotten toiletries. No need to go out late looking for a store. There's also a massage parlor downstairs, which was great for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
However, everything else was a major letdown. The biggest issue was how inconvenient the transportation was! Although there's the Gold Line BTS, it's not very practical. Aside from the immediate ICONSIAM area, getting to popular spots like CentralWorld, Siam, or other attractions pretty much required a taxi. Not only did this add extra cost every time, but waiting for a taxi during peak hours took forever. All that commuting really put a damper on the mood, and for tourists wanting to explore multiple places, this location is extremely limiting.
Inside the room, the problems continued, making for an uncomfortable stay. The floor felt sticky to the touch – even with slippers on, you could feel the grime. The cleanliness was truly subpar, and even after daily cleaning, the room never felt fresh. The bedding was even worse; the sheets felt rough and scratchy against the skin, definitely not soft or pleasant. The linens looked cheap and lacked any quality. Even when changed, they didn't have a clean, fresh smell, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep.
Worst of all was the utterly impractical room design. The toilet was open-concept! While there was a door, the overall design was very open and not fully enclosed. There was absolutely no privacy whether you were washing up or using the toilet. Plus, moisture and odors from the bathroom easily wafted into the room, making an already sticky room feel even more damp and stuffy. The whole space felt oppressive and incredibly uncomfortable.
To sum it up, the only advantages were the proximity to ICONSIAM and the convenient amenities. The core aspects like transportation, room cleanliness, bedding, and layout were all terrible. The value for money was extremely poor, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it!
