Hótel Jökulsárlón - Glacier Lagoon Hotel

Just minutes away from the glacier lagoon, the location is unbeatable. The hotel facilities are of great quality, and you can see the glacier right from your room. Soaking in the outdoor hot tub in the evening while catching a breathtaking sunset across the sky was an unforgettable experience.

The restaurant is great, but the breakfast is just so-so. The facilities are excellent, feels just like a hotel back home. The view is also wonderful—we soaked in the hotel's hot spring at night and even saw the Northern Lights. It's very close to the glacier lagoon by car.

The room has a very high ceiling, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a stunning view, especially at sunset. The private hot spring pool is a popular photo spot, and there is also a Korean-style sauna (hangzheng). The cocktails at the bar are quite good. However, however, there was a very strong, lingering smell of curry and body odor in the room, which couldn't be cleared even by opening the windows for ventilation. We reported it to the front desk, and someone came and sprayed air freshener, which just made it a sickening mix of fragrant and foul. Every time I walked back into the room, my immediate reaction was to gag.

The hotel's front desk staff were very welcoming, and the facilities were excellent, including a hot spring pool. The design of the restaurant and lobby was modern and grand, with a great view. We stayed in a mountain view room, and to our surprise, in the morning we could see a beautiful sunrise with the sky full of vibrant colors. It was stunning.

This was the most satisfying night during my self-guided trip to Iceland, words can't describe how beautiful it was. It's nice that there's a jacuzzi, but it was quite crowded, so I didn't get to use it. There's nothing around the hotel, and it takes 40 minutes to drive to Hofn. So dinner and breakfast pretty much have to be eaten at the hotel. The food is good, but you're looking at 12,000 ISK per person for a 3-course dinner. The good thing is that it's very relaxing, like a Japanese onsen, but it's not a private one. The downside is that for this room size and with nothing included, the price is really too high. As a side note, I was surprised to see tour groups staying there.

Short walk, spacious, clean and hygienic. It's truly rare to find a hotel like this in a foreign country.

This hotel ranked second on our trip and left the deepest impression on my child. It's also very high-end. The outdoor pool and natural lake are definite highlights. We experienced a 'fire and ice' sensation – it was incredibly refreshing and enlightening!

The most surprising hotel in Iceland! It's truly beautiful. There's also a small waterfall nearby to explore. It's a shame I didn't get to experience the outdoor hot springs. The room offers stunning views of the snow-capped mountains. It's only a 15-minute drive to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. The hotel's restaurant is also good and serves delicious food, but reservations are recommended during busy times.
