RainHill Hall Hotel

A very special property on beautiful grounds, this hotel surpassed my expectations. The superior room was as described, very spacious with its high ceilings, old world charm with modern interior decorator flair. Very professional and welcoming service, the reception desk colleagues are particularly attentive. I had left behind a toiletries bag, housekeeping turned it in and reception rang me to notify me. This above and beyond service is hard to find yet can be found here. Thank you to the team at RainHill Hall hotel.

The hotel is quirky and is is in a former catholic retreat with some of the features still present. It is quite dated in parts and grubby in others. There was a large wedding taking place and the music could be heard until 1am despite the hotel putting us in a room away from the main event. Breakfast was average. Unfortunately they could only give me one slice of GF bread. All the staff were friendly and are by far this hotels greatest asset.

For the amazing location and building, it could be better. The rooms are boiling. Luckily we took a portable fan as there’s no AC. Shower had no curtain. The mattress was really out of shape that gave aches all over the next morning.

It is worth staying here just to see the ceiling in the bar area!!

Quirky but in a good way. The receptionist correctly confirmed that my booking was for a standard double room, so when I opened the door I was amazed to find a huge room with two double beds and a single and enough empty floor space for another three doubles. My amazement continued when I walked into the bathroom (again huge) with two large spa baths (I later tried one - very relaxing). The site has a lot of history having been a country house, home of a German princess, Jesuit retreat and an RAF leadership school. Set in several acres of grounds which also made for a pleasant walk after an enjoyable dinner. I’ve sometimes paid more for a Premier Inn or Travelodge.

All are excellent, staff are very friendly and helpful. But the hot water of the shower isn't hot, only warm in temperature. When checkout, we asked staff and she told that we need to wait few minutes to let the boiler run.

Beautiful hotel

Had to check in down the road then get back in my car which isn't great with a suitcase. Room ok. Restaurants was a walk away and nothing was easy to get to. Overall ok but be patient.

It was difficult to find our room- there could have been more signage. There was no heating on in the room when we arrived and it was very cold. The bathroom was also cold and had no source of heating. We had an evening meal which was very tasty but they seemed understaffed as we had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive. BreaThere wan
