My Village

We were staying in My Village as we wanted to experience safari (by third party) at Yala National Park. The area is a little more secluded but split into two sides where we put up at the rooms next to the pool. As it was raining every day whilst we stayed there, we didn't get a chance to swim but it looked great for cooling down. Our room was clean and great value. However what surprised us was the quality of food for dinner as it was prepared fresh upon order. Also enjoyed the packed breakfast they prepared for our safari. Only comment would be the number of insects and mosquitoes, but mosquito coils can be requested. Over all, a pleasant stay with efficient service and AC.

Wow, we have just experienced without a doubt the best moment of our stay at Sujith’s place, “My Village” in Tissamaharama. How can we even describe the time spent here? Sujith is an extraordinary person—kind, caring, attentive not only to his guests but also to his staff. His hospitality is simply the kind of quality you wish you could encounter more often. The meals and breakfast were excellent… Five stars are not enough, and even a score of 10 doesn’t do justice. Thank you, Sujith, for sharing this with us.

Beautiful, peaceful setting by the lake. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool which looked great but would definitely come back again. Hotel staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay a fantastic one

I’m not a habitual reviewer, but I really need to tell everyone just how good this place is. The hotel is wonderfully designed, with great attention to architectural detail that gives a feeling of comfort and relaxation. Great care is given to everything, from interior decor to crockery. The service is second to none - warm and helpful. Meals were cooked to order from scratch - no prepared shortcuts - which meant everything was fresh and delicious. The hotel booked a safari for us, and once again their recommendation was spot on. The experience was fantastic (and the packed breakfast the hotel provided was exceptional). There’s a private swimming pool area right across from the accommodation, which is a decent size and very clean. What can I say? My Village has got everything just right, I think.

We stayed two nights at My Village. It is a lovely hotel that has its act together very well. Our room was equipped with all the comforts, there were good sanitary facilities and it was clean. Dinner and breakfast are delicious, and the facilities such as the swimming pool and the beautiful sitting and lying areas are excellent. In addition, the hotel organized a safari in Yala park with Mari (guide and driver). Mari is a good guy with humor. But above all a good English speaking guide who showed us a lot in the park. Very satisfied with his work.

Beautiful calm shady setting with lovely pool. Very quiet. Room was v clean, with comfy bed. Owner friendly, he took us by tuk tuk to Chef Lady (lovely if you like fresh fish) restraunt and arranged our private safari. It was excellent. Our driver was Chimara. He was very knowledgeable and catered for our preference of seeing a variety of wildlife, rather than chase a leopard siting. We saw elephants, crocodiles and a variety of other mammals and birds. It was excellent.
