Champany Inn

We have stayed at Champany several times and it is always a favourite of our small group tour. We always feel like family as soon as we step through the door. Lovely accommodation, wonderful meals and exceptional customer service always combine to make for a perfect stay every time!

Stayed a couple of nights with work with some colleagues and ate in the Chop House one night. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are nice. Food is fantastic, steaks are amazing as is service. Contrary to previous reviewer there are plentiful parking spaces (four at front, four or five directly at the side and more further down the lane) where we easily parked four large cars incl SUVs. I’m not local so would struggle to make it a regular restaurant but if I were would definitely eat and stay here again

Final stop with friends (2 couples) on a west of Scotland road trip that would take us to from Auchterarder to Bishopton, Islay, Machrahanish and finishing in Linlithgow. Champany Inn is all about the restaurant, not the rooms! It’s a place to come for an exceptional meal, enjoy excellent wine from their extensive list (much of which is South African) and have the benefit of staying over so no one has to drive. The bedrooms are comfortable enough, albeit quite dated, and have everything you need for an overnight stay. On arrival - after squeezing our cars into the tiny spaces - we sat in the courtyard in the sunshine and enjoyed a bottle of wine which was very nice. The restaurant is famous for its beef dishes so we all had various cuts of beef each, all for which were excellent, and once again washed down with some exceptional wine. A thoroughly excellent meal delivered with very good service. Breakfast in the morning was also very good. A large continental selection plus hot options made to order. We loved our stay here and will definitely return.

We have been staying here for a long time on our way North to fish and on our way South. It is our favourite hotel ( we travel a lot and have stayed in lots of hotels!) and Champany is our home from home. Jason and Bridget are wonderful and their team just the best. All so welcoming and the food is fabulous. You can eat in the restaurant and get the best cooked steaks in the World or eat in their Chop House and have best fish and chips. I always have the burgers as I know they will be delicious. Do yourself a favour and stay here and enjoy the whole experience.it truly is a very special place. And I love Bridget’s breakfast. The room was lovely and it was very clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient and quiet. The staff was very friendly and the meal we had in the dining room was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic stay at the Champany inn, the staff were extremely nice, nothing was too much bother and they were all very knowledgeable about surrounding area and happy to recommend things to do. Very clean hotel and food is a real treat for meat eaters as they specialise in steaks. Will definately return.

Champany inn is a very special place. Steak is my favourite meal, I’ve eaten it in top restaurants in many countries and cook it frequently on the bbq at home. I can honestly say the steaks at this place are world class and I haven’t had better. Excellent quality meat cooked over flames, absolute perfection. The dining room is unique and atmospheric and staff first class. Also a separate wine shop with first class South African wines as well as the highly regarded SA house wines. Well worth the effort to get out here and you can stay over modestly too, a very special experience. The founders’ son, Jason, now at the helm and doing an excellent job carrying on the tradition.
