Maf Velázquez
Maf VelázquezExcellent location (I mean EXCELLENT) as it's 5 min away from the entrance of the park. It is easy to get to by bus no 7/7-1 and by taxi. The hotel looks a bit old from the outside but it is tastefully decorated on the inside and they keep very well in line with the English theme.
The rooms are clean and spacious, with very nice views. They have a nice space to put things away and a small fridge. Our shower unfortunately wasn't sealed from the shower door so we ended up with water in the whole bathroom (difficult to control with a 6'4 partner).
It has in house laundry and a small grocery shop that saved us one day it was raining too much to head back to the restaurant area.
Really recommend if you're visiting the park (or Sokcho as it's also 15-20 min away by bus). Very friendly staff.

Guest UserGood location with few convenience stores and restaurants nearby, near to espresso bus terminal so easy to reach from Seoul, and also near to the Sokcho beach, friendly staffs, spacious room and comfortable bed, and of course nice sea view from the room, we are very satisfied with our booking, highly recommended!

Guest UserOur stay at this hotel has been pleasant overall, but we did encounter two problems,
1. When we entered our room we found out that the AC was not working properly, we gave it some time and it still didn’t work so we contacted the receptionist, which sent us a technician to solve our problem but his only solution was to wait, and even when we told him that we have been in the room for two hours already, he insisted we need to wait (he did not understand English so the conversation was really hard to get through), so after waiting another hour we contacted the receptionist again and this time transferred us to another room which had good AC so this problem was solved.
2. The breakfast was really really bad, and the only real source of protein it had was pork in 4 different ways, and scrambled egg which we really didn’t like at all, and also the only choice of coffee in the breakfast is milk with “coffee syrup”(???) which is super inappropriate.
Overall I would recommend to stay in this hotel and just not take the breakfast.

Ang Jian HaoNice place with nice view of the sea. However we were facing the wharf hence we are unable to see the sunrise or sunset. Overall great experience!

Guest UserThe lobby facilities are quite comprehensive, with a coffee shop and convenience store. The rooms have balconies, and the lake view from the upper floors is pretty good. However, there's no microwave or washing machine in the room. If you want to wash clothes after a trip to the beach, you have to go to the basement. It costs 3,000 Korean Won per wash, and there are only three machines, so you might have to queue if it's busy. There's no dryer either.

Guest User1. Poor Room Layout and Lack of Consideration for Female Guests
There is no dressing table/vanity. Without one, there should at least be a mirror positioned where I can sit down to apply makeup, but the only mirror is located by the entrance (where you put on shoes). I tried using the bathroom instead, but the lighting is so poorly placed that it reflects off the mirror, making it impossible to see my face clearly. Furthermore, the hairdryer cord is so short that I can’t even look in the mirror while drying my hair. The lack of consideration for female guests is appalling.
2. Unreasonable Trash Disposal Policy
Guests are required to sort and dispose of their own recycling. I don’t understand why a guest staying at a hotel is expected to do the housekeeping. To make matters worse, the trash disposal area has no roof, so if it’s raining, you have to either hold an umbrella or just get soaked while throwing away the trash.
3. Unmanaged AV Room
There is an AV/Game room, but no staff members are stationed there to manage it. This means if one team decides to monopolize the equipment and play for hours, there is no way to intervene. There is clearly no oversight or system in place to ensure all guests get a fair turn.

Guest UserThis was a very pleasant place to stay before and after a hike in Seoraksan National Park. Lovely view from the balcony. Very clean and comfortable, and helpful staff!
Very convenient location. The local bus to the national park is right across the street from the hotel, and the hotel is 10 minutes walk from the express bus terminal.
I was pleasantly surprised by a washing machine in the room, which was great to clean my muddy clothes after my hike (you'll need your own laundry detergent).
The room had a kitchenette with sink, hot plate, and full-size refrigerator and freezer. The only problem is there was no pot or pan to use on the hot plate, so I could not actually use it to warm my food (unless I would travel with my own pot)!
It would be nice if the room provided a hair dryer and if the hotel had some breakfast option. The cafe downstairs offers only drinks, not food, and doesn't open until 11 a.m.
The entryway light is motion activated, and there are many electronic buttons and panels around the room that emit light, so if you are sensitive to light while sleeping, you will have to cover your eyes with a sleep mask.
Also note that it you close the sliding door between the bed and living area while the air conditioning is on, it will prevent the cold air from reaching the part of the room where the thermostat is located, so the air conditioner will remain on indefinitely, and the sleeping area will get very cold.
The various panels for lights and temperature were a bit difficult to understand. English labels would be helpful. But the receptionist was helpful and came up to my room to show me how to use the air conditioning. The USB port on the nightstand worked some of the time and sometimes it didn't. I couldn't figure out if there was a switch or setting somewhere in the room to make it work, or if it was just malfunctioning.

Guest UserThe ocean view is actually much better in person!! There are also plenty of places to eat nearby haha.
The room I stayed in had a separate kitchen and living room, so it was great for bringing takeout and eating! The refrigerator was big, and they provided plenty of towels!!
However, the water pressure was so, so, so weak that the toilet got clogged. I had to go to Daiso to buy some water to barely manage to unclog it…
A housekeeper was waiting outside even before check-out time... haha. I was really surprised haha.
Anonymous User
Anonymous UserWhile not far from the bus terminal, the hotel is quite a distance from Sokcho city center and major attractions. Unless you're there for golf or a group event, it's not a particularly convenient location. However, the internal facilities are excellent, with a restaurant, cafe, water park, coin laundry, and arcade, so there's no real need to leave the premises.
Guest User
Guest UserThe room was clean and spacious. The hotel is in a quiet area but still very close to restaurants, and there is a convenience store downstairs. It takes a 15 minutes walk to reach Sokcho beach. There is a bus stop nearby to go downtown or to Seoraksan NP. The express bus terminal is also a short walking distance. I enjoyed having a cup of tea in my room in the evening with a lake view reflecting the city lights and bridge.Searches related to Hotels Near Seoraksan National Park in Sokcho-si
