This hotel truly impressed me! Every design detail in the rooms cleverly incorporates Art Deco style, exuding a sense of luxury. The rooms were spotless and felt brand new, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and polite, showing genuine sincerity in every interaction. The overall experience was perfect. If you're looking for a unique city staycation, this place is an excellent choice.

Getting to the hotel for the first time was a bit tricky as there were no signs within the airport. However, the hotel's interior decor is artistic and very pleasing to the eye. The Executive Lounge breakfast was quite extensive and tasted good too.

This hotel is very new and the decor is high-quality. However, the room was quite small, feeling like less than 30 square meters. On the other hand, the overall service level was excellent. Evelyn assisted me during my stay, and she handled everything perfectly. Plus, there's no need to go outside to get to Hongqiao Airport; the check-in counter is right at the exit.

For my 'special forces' style trip, I chose to book a hotel inside the airport, and it couldn't have been more convenient! I was able to check in and board quickly. Highly recommended!

✈️ **Unbeatable "Land and Arrive" Location:** Seamlessly connected to the T2 terminal departure level, it's just a few minutes' walk to the check-in counters. For those catching a flight, this convenience is unparalleled. ✈️ **Immersive Views for Aviation Enthusiasts:** This stay was entirely to fulfill my child's wish to see airplanes. And it did not disappoint! As soon as we entered, my child was incredibly excited – thoroughly enjoying watching all sorts of planes! The room comes standard with quadruple-pane soundproof glass, and my real-world test confirmed almost no noise. Lying in bed watching planes take off and land, every snap becomes a masterpiece. It's a paradise for aviation lovers. Initially, when I called, they said my booked room type might not have plane views, depending on the day, which made me a bit disheartened. But upon arrival, they unexpectedly upgraded me to a family room! I'm so surprised and incredibly grateful! ✈️ **Shangri-La's Next-Gen Aesthetic Upgrade:** The design has shed the traditional "old-school bureaucratic" style, blending new Chinese minimalism with Shanghai culture. Both the lobby and rooms are highly photogenic. It's said to have opened in 2023, so the facilities are brand new. And the design is very well thought out, making for a very comfortable stay! ✈️ **Full "Horizon Club" Privileges:** All rooms enjoy executive benefits (afternoon tea, happy hour, etc.). This also came as a pleasant surprise to me. You can go up anytime for drinks, coffee, and snacks, which was fantastic! Although the staff described them as light meals, I found them quite substantial. Even though breakfast is semi-buffet, the à la carte and self-service options were completely satisfying! I was very happy with the food! The Horizon Club staff were also incredibly warm and energetic. It was the first time I truly felt at home. I also want to thank Milly. When I checked out, I provided some minor feedback, and she truly treated it as an important matter for follow-up. I'd definitely be willing to come back again!

The ultimate hotel at Hongqiao Airport, and it truly lives up to its reputation. My son really wanted to see planes up close. We'd previously stayed in a runway view room at the Marriott, which was great. This time, we booked the Shangri-La Executive Airport View Suite. It's an approximately 88-square-meter, linear layout with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the runway. You get an unobstructed view of planes taking off and landing – wings soaring through clouds during the day, and golden-edged sunsets in the evening. It's truly a sight you never get tired of. The most pleasant surprise was the soundproofing – the hotel uses four layers of soundproof glass. Lying in bed, you can't hear any plane noise at all, and I slept unexpectedly soundly. The suite comes fully equipped: 🛏️ Master bedroom + separate living room. The bedding is noticeably superior to standard rooms. 🍳 Washing machine, microwave, and induction cooktop are all provided, perfect for longer stays. 🚿 Master bathroom + guest bathroom with double showers, Hansgrohe showerheads + Dyson hairdryer. ☕ Capsule coffee machine + direct drinking water dispenser + complimentary minibar. 📺 65-inch TV + JBL audio + smart room controls. As the world's first all-Horizon Club hotel, all rooms include executive lounge privileges. The Horizon Club Lounge on the 12th floor is the heart of it all: Breakfast: Lanxi beef noodles, freshly wrapped wontons, Donghe roubing (meat pastry), Youbu soy milk – authentic Jiangnan flavors. Afternoon Tea: Starts at 2:30 PM, perfect for watching planes by the window and relaxing. Happy Hour: Starts at 5:30 PM, with fried rice, BBQ meats, and special cocktails. If you don't have high culinary demands, it can easily serve as dinner. And the location is a true game-changer – direct access to the departure level of T2. If you have an early morning flight, you're practically there upon arrival. Just a two-minute walk with your luggage to check-in. They also provide a quick security check pass for the dedicated Channel 5 at T2 domestic departures. 💡 Minor drawbacks: The hot water pressure was a bit low, and there weren't many Western options at breakfast. But these are minor issues; it's hands down the best choice for a layover in Hongqiao or catching an early morning flight.

1) I gave the service 3 stars because the hotel called back for a follow-up, otherwise it would have been worse. 2) Our flight was delayed, and we arrived at the hotel after midnight. The first thing the front desk asked us when we checked in was if we had come to the wrong hotel, as there are two Shangri-La hotels. I told him I wasn't aware of two Shangri-La hotels and showed him the location on my phone to confirm if we were in the right place. After he looked at it, he confirmed we weren't wrong. We then proceeded to check in with our IDs. I think his approach should have been different; he should have asked for our IDs first, and only after confirming a mistake, informed us about the other Shangri-La, though we weren't at the wrong hotel. 3) We were told breakfast ended at 10:30 AM the next day. This was probably because we checked in too late, and he mistakenly thought it was Saturday. Breakfast on weekdays (Mon-Fri) ends at 10:00 AM, while on weekends (Sat-Sun) it ends at 10:30 AM. However, we all thought breakfast ended at 10:30 AM, which led to the following breakfast incident. 4) We went for breakfast at 9:50 AM, which turned into an even worse experience. Before 10:15 AM, my child asked a server for another pancake, but the server, from about 3 meters away, replied, 'Ma'am, there are no more.' My point here is that the server could have been more friendly and polite, approached my child, and explained that the chef was off duty and it was past the time to make more. This might have helped my child accept the situation better. 5) The hotel's follow-up call was friendly; they offered a discounted room rate and a complimentary use of the Chinese restaurant for our next visit. We didn't need or accept it. We only travel with our child two or three times a year, and what we need is a comfortable experience.
