Château les Merles et Ses Villas

Found this gem and went for a birthday treat. Dinner B&B, with a deluxe room. Greeted on check-in with a glass of champagne which is a nice touch. The bedroom was spacious, with lovely views over the grounds. Bed was large and very comfortable. Plenty of storage space too. The bathroom too was spacious, with 2 sinks. Shower was over the bath and a bit diffoto get to, which was the only downside. A complimentary bottle of the house wine was waiting on the table. We had dinner on the terrace, choosing the gastronomic menu. Foie gras, beef fillet and chocolate namélaca, all of which were excellent, accompanied by a tasty house wine. Service and food left nothing to be desired. Might well come back for a golf package. Very impressed.

My wife and me have enjoyed 3 perfect days at Chateau Les Merles. Wonderfull, cosy place, buildings, rooms, terras and restaurant. The courses and and wine were delicious. People of Les Merles are very nice and show they enjoy too. Swimming pool is comfortable and the 9 holes golf course also nice, although very challenging! Environment with wine fields and chateaux and the beautiful place Bergerac, complete the scene. Thanks for having us! Pieter & Valerie (The Netherlands)

We spent a night here at Chateau Les Merles before our early morning flight home from Bergerac. My only disappointment is that it was just one night! What a find! The photos do not do justice to how beautiful this hotel is. I think it may have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the complimentary glass of champagne and amuse bouches on arrival were delightful. As was the souvenir bottle of wine. The bathroom was stunning and immaculately clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was completely delicious and the staff very pleasant and helpful. I really cannot recommend this hotel enough. We can’t wait to go back for longer.

We stayed in this hotel for 9 nights recently (one stay of six nights, a second of three) and can thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend it. The property is very stylish yet completely unpretentious. The staff are welcoming and very friendly without being over the top. At a time when we really needed somewhere good they came up trumps and gave us a real home from home. Nothing was too much trouble. Brilliant! Huge thanks to everyone at Chateau les Merles.

We booked lunch for 6 of us at Chateau Les Merles. The set menu sounded nice so with the exception of one of our party. We all chose it . Absolutely fantastic , better than a lot of A La Carte meals and beautifully presented . My compliments to the chef on duty.

What a fantastic 3 days for the Truffle event. Everything was planned out in perfect detail. The food and wine, hotel accommodations, staff, wine tasting, cooking demonstration and visits to the Truffle Market, Truffle Farm and Foie Gras Farm were all wonderful in spite of the rain. I met so many great people and even though I was the only American they welcomed me and made me feel special. I plan to come back with my husband for a stay and to tour the area as there is so much to see!

Great place to stay. We had a villa which I recommend. The shared pool at the end of the garden is fantastic. Lovely restaurant and bar area, altho we only had the breakfast once. Very well equipped accommodation - great for self catering. Golf, tennis and pétanque all available. Lots to explore in the local area.
