G Boutique Silom Hotel

I arrived and checked in around 12:30 PM, which was earlier than the standard 2:00 PM check-in time, and they allowed it, which was great! 😁 The receptionist was very kind. They asked for a 1000 THB deposit, which was returned upon checkout. The hotel's location is right on the main road. I got a single room on the 6th floor. The room was actually quite spacious and comfortable. Both the room and bathroom were clean, and they provided amenities downstairs that you could take as needed. I do have one critique for the bathroom: the drain seemed a bit clogged, causing the water to drain very slowly and pool on the floor.

The location in Silom is super convenient. The front desk staff was excellent during check-in, very friendly and efficient. There's a Japanese sauna next door, but I didn't go.

The hotel is conveniently located near Chulalongkorn Night Market and Chinatown. You can easily reach both places by taking a Grab motorcycle for just a few tens of Thai Baht. Right next door on the ground floor is Somboon Seafood, and about 100 meters to the right, at the crossroads, there's a 7-Eleven. It's also not far from Japan Town. The hotel front desk staff are very welcoming. When I checked in, I was assisted by a lady with glasses and a ponytail who spoke a little Chinese and always had a smile on her face. Other front desk staff on different shifts were also very friendly and accommodating. When I checked out, it was pouring rain, and after I called a taxi, the front desk staff even held an umbrella for me to get to the car – it was a really thoughtful gesture. There's a 1000 Thai Baht deposit required at check-in, which is understandable to cover any potential damage to items in the room, and it's fully refunded upon check-out. Now, about the room itself: it has windows that can be opened for ventilation, and the cleanliness was excellent. You'll need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, which is pretty standard in Thailand. However, there's no hairdryer. The pillows and blankets were very clean and in good condition, not old or worn out. The in-room safe was broken, but it wasn't an issue since I didn't need to use it. When booking, you can request a quiet room or a higher floor. There's a bar downstairs, and you might hear music on the second floor, but it closes after midnight. One important thing to note: there seems to be a *** bar downstairs, frequented by many handsome young men. I heard someone joking that it's like Chengdu (laughs), but it's not the kind of environment where random passersby get harassed. I'd just say that if two men are checking into the hotel or traveling together, they might easily be mistaken for a couple. Hahahaha. As long as you're not bothered by it and don't discriminate against people's free choice in relationships, it's really no big deal. All in all, for around 200 RMB, getting a room like this is actually quite a steal and excellent value for money.

I stayed for 5 nights, and in conclusion, I recommend this place for those who want to visit tourist attractions. The 24-hour check-in is also a plus. It's amazing that a hotel in the heart of Bangkok costs only 4000-5000 yen per night. I used this as my base to visit the Grand Palace area, Wat Arun, and Wat Paknam. Plus, there's a 7-Eleven just a 30-second walk away, which is super convenient. The staff there are all very kind too. There's also a clean coin laundry nearby, making it a comfortable stay. The room is well-equipped with a refrigerator, hairdryer, shampoo, body soap, and air conditioning, ensuring a pleasant experience. However, there are some downsides. Given its age, it's understandable, but there's some dust and mold in places. Also, the shower drain is quite slow. And there's no lighting near the bed, so it's a bit dark when you want to read. The walls are also thin, so you can clearly hear footsteps and conversations in the hallway; it only quieted down after 1 AM, making it hard to fall asleep (mostly due to Chinese guests). The biggest issue is the name discrepancy. It's listed as La Residence, but the correct name is G Boutique Silom Hotel. If you search for La Residence, it won't show up on Grab or Google Maps.

❣️Decided to try a change of scenery and stay here based on others' reviews, and it was exciting, captivating, and delightful! 🚗Parking for about 2-3 cars. 🚿The bed was big and nice, and all the toiletries were provided, but I couldn't find a hairdryer. Overall, it was good!~
