Our stay at The Westin was very enjoyable. The location is excellent, very close to Liberation Square and within walking distance of many of Chongqing’s main tourist attractions.
Our suite on the 46th floor was enormous, with fantastic views from two different sides of the building. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, allowing us to sleep wonderfully. Although the room could benefit from some renovation, this was not a major concern, especially considering its size and the reasonable price.
Housekeeping was excellent. The room was always very clean, water and amenities were replenished daily, and the staff were very friendly and flexible, even when we left the room late.
The breakfast was exceptional, both in terms of variety and food quality, especially the Chinese dishes and the omelette station. However, it can get quite crowded, with some waiting times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time, as they start clearing the buffet promptly at 10:30 a.m.
We also had dinner at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant and really enjoyed the quality and preparation of the dishes, although everything we ordered was too spicy for our taste. We also visited the Westin Club and really liked the buffet.
The gym and pool facilities were another highlight. Everything was very well maintained, the gym was adequately equipped, and the swimming pool was spacious. There was also a sauna and steam room.
The only aspect that left a less positive impression was the check-in, which was somewhat slow and involved some communication difficulties. It would also have been helpful if someone had accompanied us to the suite to explain how the various controls and devices worked, as many of them were labelled in Chinese.
Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel for its excellent value for money, convenient location and quality of service.
