Overall great. The staff are very nice and responsive. We had one of the individual bungalows, number seven, which had a fantastic view and a roof deck. I would highly recommend this one or number four which was smaller, but also had its own roof deck and a great view. I would definitely recommend the individual bungalows as opposed to the three rooms, but if you do choose one of the rooms, be sure not to choose number one because it sits right next to the compressor or something that makes a lot of noise. Originally we had that room and then changed when we got there. We were so lucky to get number seven and really enjoyed it. The staff will arrange anything for you and could not have been more accommodating. I would say that they were fantastic. The one real thing to be aware of here is you definitely need a car and you also have to be a very bold driver. The last 11 km of the trip from the airport is dirt road and it’s really not fun. Some of it is along a high cliff over the ocean and we found it quite stressful. In fact, we canceled one of our in town dinner reservations because we just couldn’t handle the stress of coming home in the dark. There are donkeys and cows and goats on the road and it’s particularly hard to see them at night. That is the one reason I would not return to this hotel. If they ever pave the road, I will be back, but not before the road is paved. It will cost you well over $300 USD round-trip to have them arrange for transportation into town or else elsewhere. The food was fine, I wouldn’t say it was particularly good and if I had my druthers, I would not have eaten there, but there aren’t a lot of choices nearby. We discovered the coyote kitchen, which sits across from nine Palms Beach, and it was fantastic. Nothing fancy about it but a cool place over a super cool surf shop and the food was actually excellent. They are not open for dinner, but I would highly recommend for breakfast and lunch and thought the food was better than the hotel’s. Definitely go to Cabo Pulmo for snorkeling or scuba. It’s about an hour drive on a dirt road, but it’s really not bad and it’s very worth it. The staff will arrange the trip for you. Everyone in the Cabo area has their eyes out for the ubiquitous gringo and you will pay dearly for things. The only place we didn’t find that was at coyote kitchen, which was chill and a laid-back place for surfers. Overall, this place is really lovely and a fantastic getaway. You can just chill at the property and go to the beach if that’s you want to do. Other than the road to get there, I really recommend it!
