Candlewood Suites WINDSOR LOCKS BRADLEY ARPT by IHG

We picked this hotel because it had a pool which we wanted for our granddaughter but the pool was closed for a do over. Remolding was happening also on our hall. Very unsightly. Note on sink said “ cleanliness important to us, we will clean your room and provide towels once a week”. That is not enough for us considering we paid $400 for 2 nights The shuttle to airport was great so that was a plus. Also the bed was clean and comfortable.

There were no signs at the entrance identifying the building as a hotel, even though that was where Google Maps directed us. The luggage cart was in extremely poor condition—the dirtiest I've ever seen at a hotel. The property appeared to be undergoing a rushed, cosmetic renovation, with updates that looked incomplete and poorly executed. The atmosphere was concerning, and it seemed that some rooms may have been occupied by homeless individuals or long-term residents. Overall, the condition of the hotel did not match its price point. At around $50 per night, it might have been acceptable, but at $200 per night, it was a complete disappointment.

Patricia the receptionist is horrible and rude. We asked for a different room due to loud construction going on at the property, she refused to look for any availability. Moreover, she made up stories that construction is all over the hotel, while it went on the 3rd floor predominantly. We asked to be transferred to the 1st floor she stated that's impossible, and it is just a coincidence that there is no construction on the first floor. We asked to speak to management, she stated she is management. Horrible person she should not be in customer service! Also, a lot of gym equipment is out of order.

Staff very pleasant and helpful. The property is undergoing renovations which wasn’t mentioned in the booking information or I would have never booked there. We were given a non-renovated room and asked for a renovated room which we moved to the next day (big mistake). Third floor had no carpeting in the hallways and the room which was supposed to be redone and the only thing different than the non-renovated was vinyl flooring instead of carpet. No hair dryer or ironing board in the room. The staff were very helpful in getting a hair dryer and the ironing board from the room we were in previously. The map of the hotel and fire escape route which is supposed to be on the back of the door in every hotel room wasn’t there and the trim work around the floor was missing so obviously this room wasn’t ready for guests. We were only there for the weekend but otherwise for a longer stay we would have left to go elsewhere. First and last time staying at a Candlewood anything. Heads up *******, you need to mention when a property is undergoing renovations and I’m done booking through *******. From now on I’m booking with the hotel directly or with another booking agency. Lastly I want to recognize again the staff at the Candlewood Suites for being pleasant and helpful during our stay. Management needs to up their game.

Hotel does not match the online pictures! Terrible smell, no carpet on the floor, bathrooms dirty. ZERO ⭐️

The room stunk of smoke. Bed was comfortable, thankfully we only slept there and left for the airport super early. Shuttle driver was super friendly.

The hotel is undergoing some much needed renovations with workers moving carts of debris through the halls. Also there is noise while they’re working which is annoying.

Front desk lady was very nice. Beds were very soft, almost too soft. Conveniently location.

Clean room and quiet. Conveniently located. But I never got my 3 am wake up call I was promised. Fortunately I had an alarm but I also count on these calls to get me up.
