Akakura Kanko Hotel

As many have noted in their reviews, the food here was absolutely delicious. I stayed in the main building, and honestly, the walk to the bathhouse in the colder months felt a bit inconvenient. However, aside from that, everything else was perfect.

Today I experienced an overnight hot spring stay for the first time. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, so I couldn't see the beautiful scenery. I liked the hospitality service, including the air dryer. I would like to go again. I think I'd like to try a day trip to a hot spring rather than an overnight stay. I was grateful that they provided written communication since I am hearing impaired.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. Last time I only stayed one day, this time I stayed two. September is off-season, and booking two days in advance was RMB 500 more expensive than booking separately. This hotel is very weather-sensitive; I recommend canceling if it's cloudy or rainy for several days in a row. On my first day, visibility was very low due to heavy rain, and the fog outside the window made it impossible to see even the trees, which was a very bad experience. The room also had a slight odor due to the high humidity, which exposed the room's shortcomings without the beautiful view. The air conditioner was too loud, and the toilet was difficult to flush. The carpet was too worn. The next day, the weather cleared up, and everything was beautiful again. I bought a cable car ticket at the front desk and the hotel delivered it to the cable car station. The top of the mountain was beautiful, and the air was fresh. On the way back, I asked the cable car staff at the cable car station to call the hotel. They were the same hotel, and the bus arrived in just over ten minutes. There are three restaurants, two of which offer breakfast: one buffet and one Western-style set menu. The buffet has a wide variety of dishes and good taste, while the set menu is average, but the view is beautiful. I booked a room with breakfast and dinner included. Dinner was served at Shirakaba. Kaiseki is fine, and the quality is excellent, suitable for Chinese palates. The special kaiseki I chose for an additional fee the next day was terrible, with a heavy sugary sauce that made it unpleasant. The service was first-rate. Meals can be reserved during check-in, but meals are fine. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby. We also visited Kasumi Falls this time, but the hike is difficult and the falls are small, so it's better to just wander around the hotel gardens. The hot springs are great and worth experiencing. The hotel is located in Myoko Plateau, so be sure to email ahead to schedule a pick-up. There are no buses or taxis, and the ride takes about 15 minutes.

The prices are high, but you always know that it's well worth it. The best is the main building, which gives you a sense of the weight of history. The unobtrusive, unassuming renovation has made it even more comfortable. Dinner at the French restaurant Sorbier is always so appealing that I'm interested. Even if I stay multiple nights, I always end up ordering it here. I'm not sure why the popular consommé soup has recently become an optional menu item, but it's still so appealing that I always end up ordering it.

落ち着きのある雰囲気で、癒されました。 夕食のメニューですが、コースのパスタは少し残念でしたが、ヒレステーキは満足出来ました。朝食の朝シャンパンは良かったです。

My room was on the first floor of the spa building, but the bathwater was lukewarm! Because the bathtub was made of stone, the water was cooled by the cold ground beneath it. There seemed to be a reheating function, but it was disabled. Everything else—the service and food—was excellent, so this was a real shame. Incidentally, I stayed on the first floor of the premium building last year, and perhaps because it's newer, I didn't experience this problem. In any case, for this price range, I expect proper facilities.

This hotel was a nice surprise! A warm atmosphere and a great welcome at reception. All the staff are very helpful and kind... Discreet and efficient! 3 different restaurants to vary the menus, the one in the new part is just magnificent with the view of the valley and the water basin all around. Practical lockers for ski equipment which open directly onto the slopes... a real ski in / ski out. The rooms with private Onsen are wonderful. The massages at the Clarins spa were a great experience and the girls very gentle and professional. We can't wait to go back.
