staff always look busy. Very bad attitude.Very bad experience. They don't serve me cutlery to eat with. The restaurant wasn't busy when I entered. but I want to highlight. receptionist talking very good 😊 and they very funny. Hotel is not good.

*1/5 stars* "AVOID SUNRISE BEACH HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! Our experience was a nightmare! The room was a far cry from the online description, and the construction noise next door was unbearable. We canceled our 2-day stay (July 30-31, 2025) after checking-in, but Fernando and his team initially refused to refund us, claiming it was non-refundable. After a frustrating negotiation, they begrudgingly agreed to refund $150, but slapped us with a $50 cancellation fee. And to add insult to injury, they're now completely ignoring our calls and messages for a refund. Fernando's management style is clearly focused on ripping off customers rather than providing good service. Save your money and stay elsewhere!"

Do not book your excursions through this hotel! My partner and I booked a ‘Half Day’ trip which included 3 snorkelling points and lunch on a sandbank. We were with 8 other people. When we left in the morning the weather was beautiful, however when we got to the first snorkelling point, it was windy, cold and pouring down rain. Our guide said ‘if the weather conditions continue we will have to go back to Maafushi’, we all understood because it was really bad conditions. After 30 minutes of waiting, the guide said we could start snorkelling, many of us were very uncomfortable because the weather hadn’t changed much, it was still harsh winds and rain. We had a professional swimmer in our group and he went in the water for 3minutes and came out - he said it’s too harsh. Barely any of us felt safe to go in. Those that did go in went in for 2-3 minutes. After 20 minutes, they gave us lunch and took us to the sandbank. Then we headed back to Maafushi. All 10 of us complained because we weren’t happy with the service, we understood the weather is in no one’s control however none of us felt comfortable or safe so why not bring us back to the island? We asked for a refund the managers said ‘No because we have to pay for fuel and if we give you a refund we won’t make any profit.’ They were completely unprofessional and their customer service was terrible.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at this hotel was quite frustrating and disappointing. We requested room cleaning early in the morning before breakfast, followed up again after lunch, and even checked in the evening — only to be told by the housekeeping staff that they were done for the day and couldn’t clean the room. It was unacceptable, especially when the request was made multiple times well in advance. Another major issue was simply trying to get drinking water. We called more than five times requesting bottles, and after repeated delays, we were finally told to go outside and refill our bottles from a public dispenser. For a hotel, this is extremely poor service. Additionally, we had booked another room for our friends. They requested an iron as we were on a tight schedule, but despite several calls, no one responded. Eventually, I had to go all the way to the reception myself just to get basic assistance. To top it all off, our experience at the restaurant wasn’t any better. The staff kept us waiting for a long time and didn’t even offer water while we were seated. Overall, the hotel fell short on basic hospitality standards. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and improves the service quality, because the potential is there — but the execution was sadly lacking during our stay.
