Extraordinary staff and hospitality. Mesmerisingly beautiful place, especially the common areas and a really nice and complete breakfast. Nonetheless, significant areas of the hotel need restoration and care. Including inside some rooms. This hiccups didn’t stain our stay as the staff made their absolute best to make us comfortable and happy.

The hotel is beautiful but looks a bit in need of renovation. It has beautiful corners for photos, and the bar and terraces are gorgeous. the dinner and breakfast were very well served and it had a fantastic wine cellar.

During the off-season, it's incredibly quiet, and if you go early for breakfast, you'll practically have the place to yourself. The building is historic, but the rooms and common areas are clean, and the staff are attentive. The plumbing and Wi-Fi are a bit weak, and the hair dryers are basic, but it doesn't detract from the atmosphere. Recommended for those who want to enjoy Bussaco wine and nature walks, or those who want to spend a peaceful anniversary.
