Radisson Collection Hotel,Xing Guo Shanghai

The room was beautiful and the hotel facilities were impeccable, but there were two drawbacks: 1. The small tea canisters in the room were placed right next to the free coffee capsules, making it very easy for guests to open them inadvertently, only to find out they cost 38 RMB. It felt a bit like being tricked into consuming something. What's even worse is that for 38 RMB, the tea was old and of terrible quality – I spat it out after one sip! 2. The complimentary cookies from the hotel looked nice, but tasted strongly of artificial additives. These two issues severely detracted from an otherwise good impression of the hotel and also harmed its brand image.

Excellent location! It's an 8-minute walk to Wukang Building, and also very convenient to get to Columbia Circle and Xujiahui. The hotel's old buildings have diverse architectural styles, and the greenery is top-notch. The breakfast is abundant and of high quality.

1. Although there was parking closer to the lobby, the security guard at the entrance directed me to park in the opposite direction. He even asked if it was my first time staying there, and when I said yes and mentioned I had luggage, he didn't inform me about any shuttle service, especially on such a hot day. 2. There were staff members at the lobby entrance who enthusiastically helped me with my luggage all the way to my room. However, their professionalism was lacking. When I asked about the gym's location and whether it was free for guests, I was told guests had to pay. When I inquired about the price, they said they didn't know and told me to call the front desk. After calling the front desk, I was informed that gym access is indeed free for hotel guests. 3. The bottled water provided by the hotel tasted terrible. 4. The cleanliness was subpar. On the day of check-in, I found the bench at the foot of the bed to be very dirty, with small items left by previous guests. It remained dirty throughout my three-night stay. 5. The hotel gym is large and bright. It's pleasant to walk around the hotel grounds, and there are many lawn wedding setups. Other than that, the service and hygiene definitely need improvement.

For this price and environment in Shanghai, it's absolutely fantastic value! The hotel is in the heart of Changning District, yet it's surprisingly quiet despite being in a bustling area, featuring a large garden. Waking up and looking out at the garden view is incredibly relaxing. The surrounding amenities are convenient, and Wukang Building is within walking distance. I originally only booked one night, but after staying, I was determined to extend my stay. Strolling through Hengshan Road, Wukang Road, Hunan Road, Huashan Road, Yongfu Road, Tai'an Road, Anfu Road, and Xinhua Road for a Citywalk, leisurely admiring the various old villas under the plane trees along the streets – the experience was just incredible. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The customer service was excellent, and all the hotel staff were friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. There are many popular photo spots around the hotel, and they even offer professional travel photography services on-site. The buffet restaurant provides a variety of individually prepared dishes, which was very satisfying. I also really enjoyed strolling through the beautiful garden and lawn area.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even assisting with luggage. The room had an old Shanghai charm, and the hotel is conveniently located near Wukang Building. Breakfast was also quite good.

I really have to commend Xingguo Hotel. Its prime location goes without saying – Wukang Road, Anfu Road, and Urumqi Road are all within walking distance, making it perfect for trendsetters exploring the city. The nearly century-old architecture and ancient camphor trees still exude a timeless charm. Although it's in a bustling area, it's surprisingly quiet. The service and renovated facilities, after being taken over by Radisson, are also quite good. I'm glad I experienced it myself and didn't encounter any of the negative issues I'd read about in previous reviews. The breakfast is very generous and features many Shanghainese specialties.

I'll be in Shanghai in about two months, and the front desk always prioritizes giving us our preferred room type. They even switch out the duvet for a lighter one beforehand. This time, my kid really enjoyed swimming on the 3rd floor and we had a great meal there too.

I saw so many recommendations for Xingguo Hotel on Xiaohongshu, and my stay definitely didn't disappoint. The location is superb, right near the classic city walk routes of Wukang Road and Anfu Road. The entire hotel environment is breathtaking, like a forest park, with old villas nestled among towering ancient trees – every step is a picturesque scene. The hotel breakfast is very generous, and the freshly made burgers and hand-wrapped mini wontons were delicious. The room decor was stylish with a sophisticated color scheme. Plus, the complimentary travel photography experience from Yiqi Travel Photography was fantastic – super efficient and produced amazing shots! I couldn't bear to delete any of the photos, haha. Full marks, highly recommend!
