We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is a wonderful grand hotel in a fantastic location. We received a fabulous welcome and stayed in a lovely room. The decor is traditional and the reception areas had welcoming fires which created a lovely ambiance. Where we felt the hotel let itself down was on the pre dinner and breakfast service. The attention to detail was lacking across a number of areas. The food was exceptional and overall we enjoyed our stay and would re-visit and we recommend the hotel.

An excellent 4 night stay here with superb service and delicious food. Our room, set in the gardens as we have a dog, was just right. My wife is visually impaired and we particularly appreciated the care provided by staff at the hotel’s spa. Many thanks.

My wife and I had a wonderful three-night break here. The hotel is very comfortable and we found the staff to be attentive to our needs. I was particularly taken by the various lounges and sitting areas. There's the main hall, the drawing room, the library (with a log fire), and at least two other small sitting areas. The hotel's location is very convenient for Llandudno, Rhos-on-sea, Conwy, and Bodnant Gardens, to name just a few places of interest. We found the hotel to be very quiet and peaceful, though to be fair, this could perhaps change in high season when the hotel is full. We had a "winter rate" for our stay which made our trip good value for money. The dining room had proper tablecloths, napkins, cutlery, and wait staff who knew how to do things correctly. Plus, the hotel is set in acres of garden which is a joy to walk through. Make sure you have shoes that can cope with mud if you go in winter

Very disappointed..... especially considering the price!!!! Outdated, shabby hotel. Yellow stained headrest and bathroom with mold. Swimming pool is falling apart with kids diving in for loose tiles. Very shabby. The restaurant on site very strict with a dress code... we had to laugh as it definitely didn't go with the overall quality of the hotel. Nice views and picturesque area and gardens but definitely not worth the money. Please avoid. We paid£420 ... no breakfast. Big mistake

A hotel that definitely needs updating inside. Clean, tidy and beautifully furnished, but it feels as though its stuck in time, especially the bathroom and the decoration in our bedroom . I realise it needs to remain in character, however, it felt very dated. Please consider a complete revamp. The restaurant was very dark in the evening (again, dated decor) so you couldn't really see what you were eating, and sadly, the food was very poor, especially at £75 per head, definitely not worth the money. For such a special place, the food should be all cooked from scratch, there were many elements which were not, and menu inclusions, were not on the plate but replaced by inferior product. A positive; all of the staff were excellent and could not be faulted, from arrival to departure.

From the moment my daughter & l arrived we felt thoroughly spoilt, amazing staff who went over and above making our 2 night stay extra special. Our room was fabulous with incredible views over the grounds. We treated ourselves to some wonderful spa treatments which l highly recommend.

We went for an afternoon tea as a treat for my wife whose special birthday is fast approaching. The setting is spectacular even on a wet afternoon, the food was excellent as was the service from a young gentleman (Bangor/Llanfairfechan background) - attentive without being intrusive. A secial afternnon to remember. Llawer o ddiolch.

We had a lovely two days spent here during January, which obviously is a quiet month, but received a warm welcome from all staff. We stayed in a beautiful two storey cottage situated in the grounds of the hotel a few minutes walk from the main building. We stayed in Gingerbread House which had a beautiful downstairs sitting room with sofa chair, TV and side tables. There was also a small kitchenette with coffee maker, kettle and tea making facilities and a fridge. The upstairs bedroom was very comfortable with bedside lamps, various charging points for phones and dressing table and chair. The bathroom had an excellent powerful over bath shower and complementary toiletries were provided as well as ample towels. We ate in the restaurant on our first night which being a Monday in January was quiet but the menu, while limited was excellent. Since it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a sweet message on the dessert plate, which was such a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was of a high standard as you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. I also visited the Spa and had a massage with Megan, which was excellent. We didn't use the facilities, but there is an extremely large indoor pool and gym on site as well.
